Today we’d like to introduce you to Kourtni.
Hi Kourtni, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Sydney Jayde & Co began as a spark—an idea born from a love of fashion and a desire to help women feel confident, beautiful, and uniquely themselves. I launched the boutique online nearly nine years ago with a vision to create something more than just a shop—it was about building a brand that celebrated real women and their personal style journeys.
As the boutique grew, I started doing pop-ups and temporary shops to bring that experience into real life and connect more deeply with my customers. I found so much joy in watching women light up when they found something they loved, something that felt like them. That connection is what fueled my dream of opening a physical storefront.
In late 2024, that dream came true. I opened our first boutique in Spring, Texas—a cozy, boho-inspired space that reflects the heart of our brand: authentic, warm, and full of personality. Every corner of the store was thoughtfully curated to feel like home, and it’s quickly become a space where women gather not just to shop, but to feel inspired and uplifted.
Today, Sydney Jayde & Co continues to grow—online, in-store, and within our community. I feel incredibly grateful to do what I love, surrounded by a loyal and supportive customer base who truly believe in what we’re building.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not a smooth road—but every bump taught me something that made me stronger, wiser, and more grounded in my purpose.
There were years when the business was barely staying afloat, especially in the early seasons. I wore every hat—shipping orders, creating content, managing finances—all while being a full-time mom and trying to figure it out as I went. My personal credit wasn’t perfect, which made expanding harder. And like many entrepreneurs, I faced moments of self-doubt, burnout, and wondering if I should give up.
Opening a storefront came with its own challenges—from securing the lease, to budgeting every inch of the buildout, to learning how to run a brick-and-mortar business while still managing the online side. But I believed in the bigger picture. I knew that if I stayed aligned with my mission and kept showing up, something beautiful would unfold.
Those struggles shaped the soul of my business. They made me more resourceful, more empathetic, and deeply grateful for every win—big or small. Today, every time a woman walks into the store and says, “This is exactly what I needed,” I’m reminded that the hard times were preparing me for moments like that.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
At Sydney Jayde & Co, we specialize in helping women feel confident and effortlessly stylish through fashion that blends comfort with individuality. Our boutique offers a curated collection of apparel, accessories, and unique gift items—all selected with a focus on flattering fits, on-trend details, and pieces that feel just as good as they look.
But more than what we sell, it’s how we make women feel that sets us apart. We’re known for our welcoming, down-to-earth vibe and a shopping experience that feels personal, not pressured. Whether someone visits us in-store or online, our goal is always to create a space where women of all shapes and sizes feel seen, celebrated, and inspired.
I’m incredibly proud of the culture we’ve built—one rooted in authenticity, community, and real connection. Customers often tell us that shopping at Sydney Jayde & Co feels like visiting a friend, and that means everything to me. From handwritten thank-you notes to curated try-on videos, we go the extra mile to let our customers know they matter.
What truly sets us apart is our heart. We’re not just here to sell clothes—we’re here to uplift women. Our boutique is a reflection of that mission in every detail, from the cozy, earthy aesthetic to the thoughtful pieces we carry. It’s fashion with soul, and that’s something I’ll always be proud of.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
So many people have played a part in helping Sydney Jayde & Co. become what it is today, and I truly couldn’t have done it alone.
First and foremost, my family—especially my husband and daughter—have been my biggest cheerleaders. They’ve seen the late nights, the tough days, and the moments when I needed encouragement the most. Their patience, support, and belief in me have been the foundation I’ve leaned on time and time again.
I’m also deeply grateful for my local community. From customers who showed up at my earliest pop-ups to those who now walk through the doors of my storefront and say, “We’re so proud of you,”—their loyalty and word-of-mouth support have been everything. Many of them feel more like friends than customers, and I don’t take that lightly.
There have also been mentors and fellow boutique owners—some I’ve met in person, others through online communities—who have shared advice, encouragement, and real-talk when I needed it most. Being an entrepreneur can feel isolating at times, so those connections have been invaluable.
And finally, my team. As we’ve grown, I’ve been blessed with people who show up with heart, hustle, and a true love for what we do. Whether it’s helping customers feel beautiful or keeping the day-to-day running smoothly, they’ve played such a big part in helping me turn a dream into a sustainable, thriving business.
Every person who’s believed in this brand, shared a post, shopped a launch, or spoken life over this vision—I carry their support with me every step of the way.
