Today we’d like to introduce you to Kevin And Maria Scott.
Kevin and Maria, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Maria: Immediately after graduating high school, I went straight into nursing school and began working as a nurse at 19. I worked multiple jobs, raised children, and eventually retired to pursue hobbies and spend time with family. It’s been a whirlwind of experiences, and I’m grateful for every moment.
Kevin: My journey has been quite the adventure. From 23 years of serving in the US Air Force to transitioning into the oil and gas industry and becoming a content creator in my spare time. My story started when I went to the military back in 1990. I traveled the world extensively and moved 13 different times. After retiring, we moved to Houston where I started working in oil and gas. When COVID hit, I went on a journey of personal self-improvement and took courses and got hooked on speaking and creating content. So, I started an Instagram page in 2021 focused on coparenting communication where I gained over 100,000 followers. That has run its course and now I enjoy creating content with my wife, traveling, and sharing our experiences with the world. It’s been a thrilling ride so far, and I’m excited to see what happens next.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Maria: Life has had its obstacles and challenges. Being a single mom for a while was hard, and managing work and family was difficult. I had dreams and goals but struggled to find time to focus on myself until my children grew older and moved out. These experiences have shaped me into the person I am today.
Kevin: Life has thrown its fair share of challenges my way. Being a young parent while in the military was tough, getting divorced didn’t make it any easier. Then remarrying and learning to manage a blended family with six children was no easy feat either but what these experiences did was make me stronger.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Maria: I’m known for my nursing career and my interest in holistic health coaching. These roles have defined my journey and brought me immense satisfaction
Kevin: I am known for my content creation, particularly around helping coparents learn how to better communicate to avoid conflicts with the other parent as well as publishing two coparenting communication books.
What does success mean to you?
Maria: I see success as achieving what you aim for. We set goals and find ways to reach them. Sometimes things don’t go as planned, but as long as we hit those goals and learn along the way, that’s success to me.
Kevin: Success is about setting yourself up to enjoy and live life to the fullest as well as being able to leave something behind for my children and grandchildren that’ll make their lives easier.
