Sistahood Scents, a candle company, was founded by a wife and stay-at-home mom who spent five years on a journey of self-discovery after having three children.
Throughout this time, I explored various small business ideas, but none took off, leaving me feeling unfulfilled, overwhelmed, frustrated, and isolated.
I yearned for a community of women—a sisterhood—where I could share my struggles and realize I wasn’t alone. I knew there were others out there who had reached rock bottom in their quest for self-identity and purpose, and I wanted to foster those authentic connections for empowerment and support through my candle company.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?

Sistahood Scents is a luxury candle company designed for women from all walks of life—whether you’re a mom, a businesswoman, an entrepreneur, or a 9-to-5 hustler. This candle is crafted with you in mind.
I started this venture as a stay-at-home mom feeling unfulfilled and searching for purpose. I longed for a sisterhood, a community where women truly understood each other, and I wanted to create something meaningful while also earning an income.
While my logo may feature beautiful black silhouettes, I want to emphasize that Sistahood Scents is for all women. As a black woman myself, I chose this imagery to express my identity, but it does not exclude anyone else. If you resonate with the logo or find that our candles speak to you, then they are for you. I want every woman to feel welcomed and included in this journey. Sistahood Scents celebrates all women, and I’m excited to share this experience with each of you!
