Hidden Gems: Meet Zarissa LeBlanc of Leblanc Hair Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zarissa LeBlanc.

Hi Zarissa, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started earning my cosmetology license when I was 16. I graduated high school with my cosmetology license at 18. I have worked under many hair franchises and worked my way up the corporate ladder until 2020 when I decided to work for myself. Thus LeBlanc Hair Studio was eventually created in 2022 as my final name change. I now also have a YouTube where I talk about hair, books and food! It can be found under my first and last name or also by LeBlanc Hair Studio.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It was not a smooth road at all! I just jumped head first in to entrepreneurship without knowing anything. I learned so much while operating and ended up finding mentors along the way that helped me hone in not only untapped skills but, also branding and how I wanted to be presented. The biggest challenge was constantly changing and elevating. Getting stagnant is so easy. You have to constantly want to be better and learn.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My business is currently a mobile hair service and YouTube channel. I have always had people ask if I could come to them, so now that is what I do. On YouTube I discuss hair, food, and books. I have always loved to read and want to become a better cook so I just share what I am currently learning and want to know more about. As for hair I will always be interested in it so I bring that to the channel as well. I do not mind saying that I am constantly learning and love sharing helpful tips and a little laugh here and there.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
That I am still building my confidence in me. It may come off that because I work for myself and have to put myself out there that I am full of confidence, that is not always true. I usually have to give myself a pep talk or ask my peers before making a final decision on big projects and choices. I also am a perfectionist and am working on not being that way because you cannot grow if you wait for everything to be perfect. You miss opportunities that way.
