Hi Salon Eros, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
December 2022, 3 stylist/friends who worked at a salon here in Houston went to a Christmas dinner. We did not have a Christmas party at our salon so we created our own. We went to dinner and the idea came up. Both Richelle and I were for it but Michael Shayne was not. A few months later Michael was on board. That night started our journey. Over the next year and a half we searched for the perfect location, got our client lists together, and started to prepare. About 6 months before we left our salon we met Melanie who came with us. January 3rd 2024 we officially opened Salon Eros.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Opening a business is not the easiest but we relied on each other and our individual strengths to make it happen. We had a long wait waiting for the buildout of our space. Waiting on permits from the city and construction.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Connie-Meet Connie, a passionate hairstylist and native Houstonian with a deep-rooted connection to the craft as a second-generation hair stylist.
With a decade of experience behind the chair, Connie has honed a diverse skill set, offering everything from classic cuts to modern color techniques, also specializing in weft, tape, and Ktip extensions.
When not in the salon, Connie treasures time spent with her son, exploring the outdoors through camping and hiking. A lover of adventure, she also enjoys running various races, always seeking new challenges.
This blend of personal and professional life fuels creativity and a heartfelt approach to styling, ensuring every client leaves feeling confident and beautiful.
With a decade of experience, Michael-Shayne graduated from Paul Mitchell School, He specializes in natural looks that enhance each client’s unique beauty, perfecting cutting, coloring, and styling techniques. His client-focused approach ensures results that meet expectations.
Michael loves color, styling, extensions, and maintaining overall hair health. He specializes in textured hair and offers smoothing treatments such as keratin, Brazilian blowouts, and oxo organic.
Richelle-A graduate of Paul Mitchell Cosmetology School, she specializes in blonding, balayage, gray coverage, hair extensions, and classic men’s haircuts. Richelle prioritizes hair health, offering Brazilian and Keratin treatments to enhance natural beauty.
Originally from West Texas, she creates a warm, personal experience for each client. Her satisfaction comes from seeing clients leave radiating confidence.
Melanie is an experienced stylist with over 11 years in the beauty industry. Born in raised in Connecticut, she studied at Aveda Institute NYC where she obtained her license in cosmetology. Her passion for hair started at the young age of 7 years old, and the passion has grown year after year. She works with all hair types, specializing in color, and extensions. Melanie throughly enjoys what she does, creating an art out of your hair. She goes above and beyond to make her clients feel beautiful!
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Our clients! When moving locations one of the biggest worries is who will come with us. They say you loose about 10% of your clientele when you move but I feel like we lost way less than that. They were all so excited to follow us and see our new space.
