Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Monica D. Roberts.
Hi Dr. Monica, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I began my Psychological Studies shortly after High School when I was old enough to understand Dementia and Alzheimer’s. My fathers mother passed when I was 14 from Alzheimer’s. Growing up with my family having different personalities and undiagnosed illnesses, it caused a lot of disfunction. I was always the neutral party and couldn’t choose sides because I understood cognitive processing. Of course at the time I was unaware of the appropriate terminology. God blessed me with the gift of discernment. I’ve aware felt vibrations, energy, I would have dreams of occurrences before they would happen. They would always come true. I could tell the kind of childhood someone had based on their actions and way of thinking. This ultimately led me to want to help others who have the same gift or simply had a childhood trauma they couldn’t heal from. I began working with CPS as a Psych Tech with multiple Residential Treatment Centers and Memory Care Facilities for the Elderly while in college. I created Treatment programs for Adolescents and Memory Care Exercises for the Elderly. I worked in the Psychology field for over 10 years and eventually took an interest in expanding to Federal counseling. Initially, I wanted to focus on Veterans but quickly realized there are many Government officials and politicians who seek counseling as well. I decided to start my career with the IRS just to get my foot in the door and absolutely loved it. My goal is to gain Federal Contracting with the VA, Pentagon, and other Federal Agencies for Forensics Investigation and Therapeutic Research.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely Not. It was very tough balancing School and working to pay tuition. Very tough landing a career in the field of which I’m studying. So many No’s. I had a few times I wanted to completely give up and do something easier. My grandfather William “Ben” Davis, was my biggest supporter. He used to tell me , “if it were easy everyone would be doing it”. I would call him and complain about how tough of a time I would have with landing a hospital position or how stressed I would be around midterms. He would always say “remember why you started”. He is the reason I completed every course, every certification even when I didn’t want to. He made me stand fear of failure and Difficulty in the face without flinching.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a Jack of all trade and I took interest in various careers because they were very easy to learn and maximize. My music was absolutely my first love. I began singing when I was 7. I used to love watching “What’s love got to do with it”. I would turn the movie on just to perform the dance routines for my grandmother. I currently specialize in Human Psychology and Economical Science.
I am known for my Musical talents via singing, rapping, video vixen, and Executive Producing Music Videos. I have written a book as well which will be published soon and available for purchase by December 2026.
I can honestly say I have many accolades and accomplishments that I am very proud of but my greatest thus far is being a Mother. I have one child name Brooklynn Mi’Amor. She will be 11 New Years Eve. She has grown to be such a beautiful , courageous, and smart young lady. She always keep me on my toes and encourages me to go for everything I want.
What sets me apart from others, I am my own person and follow my own path. I am the master or my abilities.. I face difficulties daily. Instead of making the excuse to give in, I make the choice to accept and execute. Many people want to see you win until you win. I refuse to give others what they want, which is to see Dr. Roberts, NieThaTruth, Scratch God- Give up. I choose to take the long road rather than shortcuts, even when they are presented. My “why” to succeed in life, is stronger than my emotions. That has to count for something.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Integrity and gravitas.
Integrity because the person you are when no one is looking is who you really are. You must be honest, driven, and genuine when you’re alone more than to others. Integrity is the creator of the beast everyone will experience. Rather good or bad.
Gravitas because your drive must be relentless even in your failing moments. There is quote by Winston Churchill that I live by. “Success is living from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm”. This goes hand and hand with your beliefs. You must believe you accomplish your dreams and goals. Put forth the efforts and maximize your potential to truly be successful in life. Success is not just limited to status or finances. Some people are so rich, all they have is money. Don’t become that person. [Morality]
