Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Cosart.
Hi Jordan, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My wife and I met while working as accountants at a firm in Houston. Over time, we realized we both shared a dream of doing something more creative and meaningful. That dream led us to Canyon Lake, where we envisioned building a beautiful venue surrounded by nature. What started as an idea during long workdays turned into a full-scale passion project—designing a space where others could celebrate life’s biggest moments. That dream is now a reality.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The process to even host our first event was long, tiresome, and filled with challenges. From navigating complex lending requirements to managing design and construction—none of which we were familiar with—we were constantly learning on the fly. But each hurdle taught us something new, and together, we overcame more than we ever imagined. That journey made the dream even more meaningful once it became a reality. Once we opened, a whole new set of challenges began: advertising, operations, managing a team, and maintaining the building and landscaping. It’s hard work, but we love what we do. Being part of people’s most important celebrations makes it all incredibly rewarding.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about The Preserve at Canyon Lake?
The Preserve at Canyon Lake is a high-end luxury wedding venue nestled in the heart of the Texas Hill Country on 170 acres. Surrounded by natural beauty, the venue offers sweeping views that provide a truly breathtaking backdrop for couples celebrating their special day. Designed with timeless elegance in mind, The Preserve features refined architecture and sophisticated interiors that create a stunning setting for unforgettable ceremonies and receptions. Every detail has been thoughtfully crafted to offer a one-of-a-kind experience for couples and their guests. One of its most unique and sought-after features is its own private lake, offering couples an exclusive and serene setting for their big day. We’re in the early stages of building a second venue in North Houston, located in Hockley, Texas. This new space will carry a similar design and layout to The Preserve at Canyon Lake, while offering its own unique style and character. Our goal is to bring the same level of elegance, privacy, and natural beauty to a new part of Texas. We’re aiming to begin hosting weddings in Fall of 2026, and we couldn’t be more excited to expand and welcome more couples into unforgettable spaces designed just for them.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I would say we’re pretty big risk-takers. When we decided to build The Preserve at Canyon Lake, we poured everything we had into it—our time, our resources, and our hearts. There was a lot of uncertainty throughout the design and construction process. We had a clear vision of what we wanted to create and truly hoped others would connect with it, but we wouldn’t really know until we opened our doors. It was a leap of faith, and looking back, it was one of the most rewarding risks we’ve ever taken.
