Rising Stars: Meet Angel Stevenson of Tomball

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angel Stevenson.

Hi Angel , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m Angel Stevenson, the proud owner of Hope’s Landing. I’m thrilled to have decided to dive deep into my passion for event planning at my own event venue that’s affordable.
Hope’s Landing isn’t just a venue; it’s a heartfelt tribute to my sister, Hope, who was killed in a car accident when we were both teenagers. As a result, growing up, I found joy in bringing people together, making this venture a natural extension of my love for entertaining.
Affordability and beauty were at the forefront of creating Hope’s Landing. I understand the challenge of finding affordable event spaces in the Tomball area, and I’m committed to offering a solution for everyone, regardless of income. With the unwavering support of my family and friends, particularly my mother, I’ve dedicated countless hours to ensuring that Hope’s Landing is the perfect setting for special moments.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The biggest challenge I’ve faced has been identifying and reaching my ideal target audience for bookings. While many of my clients have been women hosting baby showers, bridal showers, and birthday celebrations, I’m still not consistently booked. At the moment, I’m working full time just to cover the venue monthly expenses.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a dedicated educator with 28 years of experience, having served as a teacher, school administrator, and district leader. One of my proudest and most intentional decisions was stepping down from my role as an Elementary Principal to launch my business, Hope’s Landing. To create the space needed for this new venture, I returned to the classroom as a high school teacher, despite having no prior high school teaching experience. I embraced the challenge because it allowed me the flexibility to focus on building and promoting my business.

While I truly love teaching, I was recently called back into leadership and will now serve as a high school Assistant Principal for the upcoming school year 25-26.

What sets me apart is the unconventional path I’ve chosen. I don’t know anyone else who has voluntarily stepped away from a principalship to return to the classroom and I understand that I’m not the norm. But that’s exactly what fuels my passion and defines my purpose because I am unique in so many ways.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I believe that strong interpersonal communication and the ability to build meaningful relationships have been key to my success. I’m open to working with anyone, and nothing brings me greater joy than helping others celebrate life’s special milestones.
