Hi Zariya, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Well I have been very creative ever since I was a child. Whether if it was putting on a talent show for my family, randomly drawing a character from my favorite TV show, or even writing a book. I always was very tapped into my imagination. As we get older the world makes it slightly more difficult to hold on to our imagination. Thankfully I have a very encouraging mother who always reminded me to be creative and use my skills. For a few years I’ve been trying to find a balance between understanding I how I want to create content and my everyday life. I am grateful that I finally have a balance between the two and can effectively and fully tap into my creativity and execute all the ideas I have for my platforms. As I get older I realize my lifestyle content is geared more towards self-care, mental health and beauty. I’m currently working on a more cinematic approach for my content, due to the fact that I have a special love for cinema, film, and editing. My current content on Instagram, tiktok, and youtbe is just the beginning of all the plans I have instore. I hope that you all will hear about me on a bigger platform soon.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The main struggle with creating content I feel is consistency. Developing the will power to continue to put in the work daily without seeing the results that you want can be very difficult. It takes a certain want and belief in yourself to show up and get the job done. A saying that sticks with me is. “chase discipline not dopamine”. After hearing that, it helped me learn the importance of discipline and how it can help long-term. Finally seeing results does give me more than enough encouragement to continue. But yes, consistency has definitely been the most difficult challenge to over come.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
In my work I am most proud of my ability to see everything from a very cinematic approach. My love for movies has definitely influenced how I chose to edit my content today. I feel as though it gives off a more sentimental feeling. I want to convey a sense of realism and relatability in my content and I feel I am leaning more into that style of editing the more I create.
