My journey has truly been one of constant creation and adaptation, rooted right here in the vibrant Houston area. For as long as I can remember, my love for art and decorating has been a guiding force. For years, I’ve found immense joy in working with my hands and serving people, whether it was the meticulous art of braiding hair or the intricate work of a seamstress. It’s always been about transforming, beautifying, and helping others shine.
The real spark, though, came about three years ago, ignited by a very special occasion. My daughter’s tenth birthday was approaching, and as she’s been incredibly supportive and hardworking, I promised her a celebration that would truly honor her efforts. I found an event space, but to my artistic eye, it felt like a blank canvas waiting for inspiration, not the ‘wow’ I envisioned. So, fueled by my passion, I took matters into my own hands. I sourced every flower, every decoration, even got hands-on with the cakes, and painstakingly transformed the space into something magical. Seeing the pure joy on her face, and feeling that incredible atmosphere we created – that’s when the dream solidified: to cultivate a beautiful, yet genuinely affordable, space where everyone could experience that same kind of magic and joy in their own celebrations.
This year, that dream took an unexpected turn into reality. As a certified project manager, I’d dedicated years to multi-million dollar corporations, always focused on safety and project excellence. But life threw a curveball, a sudden, profound change that pushed me to a crossroads. I started asking myself, “If I can pour so much energy and passion into someone else’s multi-million dollar vision, why not my own?” My driving desire was to create a business where people felt genuinely safe, could relax, and simply have fun, without the immense financial stress often associated with event planning. It was then that the opportunity arose for Vibes on Vibes Event Center to be reborn right here in Katy, Texas, under my new management. It was a leap of faith, but one I felt compelled to take, seeing the immense potential to infuse this established space with fresh energy, my core values, and a renewed commitment to the community.
Since then, I’ve poured my heart and soul into every aspect of Vibes on Vibes. It’s truly more than just a venue; it’s a mission. It’s about bringing smiles, serving our Houston community, and providing that essential space for people to connect and celebrate life’s milestones. We don’t just hand over a beautiful setting for weddings, birthdays, baby showers, or corporate events. We believe in crafting unforgettable experiences. My team and I are hands-on, assisting clients from preparation to execution, aiming to ‘wow’ not just their minds, but the minds of every guest who walks through our doors. We want every celebration to be seamless and cherished.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Smooth” might not be the word I’d choose, especially for a new venture, but it has certainly been a profoundly rewarding one. Like any business, particularly in the dynamic event industry, we’ve encountered our share of hurdles.
One of the primary challenges is consistently filling our calendar and ensuring a steady stream of bookings. It’s a competitive market, and while we’re confident in the unique value Vibes on Vibes offers, connecting with every potential client and converting inquiries into confirmed events requires constant effort and innovative marketing.
Another significant concern has been dealing with the aftermath of events. While the vast majority of our clients are wonderful, there have been instances where we’ve faced unexpected damages to the hall or broken items left behind. This not only incurs unexpected repair costs but also disrupts our schedule, as we need to address these issues before the next booking.
Then there’s the reality of increasing operational bills. From utilities to maintenance, costs can rise unexpectedly, and there are times when the bookings for a given month don’t quite cover all the hall’s expenses. In those moments, it means paying bills out of pocket to keep everything running seamlessly for our clients.
These are real pressures for any small business, and the fear can definitely creep in. However, through all of it, we choose belief. We believe in growth, in the power of resilience, and in the magic we create for every celebration. These challenges simply reinforce our determination to provide exceptional experiences and grow Vibes on Vibes into the thriving community hub we envision.
Launching a revitalized business, particularly in today’s economy, comes with its share of hurdles. But what truly drives me every single day, what makes me show up and pour my all into this, are the core skills and passions I’ve honed: my deep understanding of customer service, the strategic thinking from my project management background, and ultimately, my unwavering love for people.

We specialize in providing a beautiful, versatile, and genuinely affordable space for a wide range of celebrations – from intimate baby showers and lively birthday parties to elegant weddings and professional corporate events. We’re known for creating an atmosphere where people can truly relax, connect, and have fun.
What truly sets us apart is our holistic, hands-on approach, deeply rooted in my project management background. We don’t just rent out a space; we orchestrate an experience from initiation to delivery. With my background, we offer more than just tables and chairs; we assist clients in preparing for their big day, including in-house decorating and DJ services. This means every client journey, from the very first inquiry and planning discussions to the seamless execution on event day, is managed with the precision, foresight, and meticulous detail of a well-run project. My personal passion for art and decorating, honed over years, means I have an eye for transforming spaces, ensuring every aesthetic detail contributes to that ‘wow’ factor, all while adhering to efficient planning. We’re about making dreams a reality, efficiently, beautifully, and without the usual financial stress.
I’m most proud of two things. Firstly, the transformation and rebirth of Vibes on Vibes itself. Taking an established space and breathing new life into it, infusing it with fresh energy and our core values of joy and affordability, has been incredibly rewarding. Secondly, I’m immensely proud of the smiles we put on people’s faces. There’s nothing more fulfilling than seeing a family celebrate a milestone, a couple tie the knot, or a team bond during a corporate event, knowing we’ve provided the perfect backdrop and helped them create lasting memories. It’s about building a space where everyone feels welcome, celebrated, and psychologically safe to simply enjoy themselves. This dedication to personalized, heartfelt service, combined with our unique application of project management principles across every stage, truly distinguishes us in the Katy event scene.
How do you think about happiness?
What truly makes me happy is seeing the genuine joy and smiles on the faces of our clients when their vision for an event comes to life at Vibes on Vibes.
