Today we’d like to introduce you to Luz Perez.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started off as a vintage wholesale buyer for stores in the U.K. I got to travel to different place looking for vintage clothing and It was the Best job I’ve ever could wish for. I’m truly grateful for that experience because it opened up a lot doors and opportunities for me that later helped me out when I decided to do it on my own and start up my own business. So it’s been about 6 years since I started Vida Antigua.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Like any small business starting up it’s not easy. You have your good and bad days. To me making the decision of leaving a secure paycheck every week to pursue what you love was definitely something scary. But I love what I do and I have meet some amazing people on the way who I now consider great friends who constantly keep me motivated to share what I do with others so honestly I wouldn’t change anything. I feel everything I’ve gone thru has helped me get to where I’m at now and for that I’m grateful every day.

When I started Vida Antigua I wanted to be the place you go to when you felt like going vintage shopping. I wear vintage every day and I have for many years. So I know how hard it is to find it. So with that in mind I’ve tried my best to carry a variety of styles and sizes for all. Sizing is a big deal for me in particular I know the feeling of not finding anything that fits especially when it comes to vintage clothing. I feel Vintage is looked at as of something for people on the smaller frame but it’s not at least it doesn’t have to be, it’s out there and I work really hard to always have something in every size and not just that fits but that actually looks good on.
