Story & Lesson Highlights with Kalie Trahan of League City

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Kalie Trahan. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Kalie, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Something outside of work that’s bringing me joy lately is my fur babies !
My husband and I absolutely adore our dogs and we recently just got another puppy. Pure happiness !

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! My name is Kalie Trahan, I own a bakery in League City, TX called Craved Creations. This year will be 9 years since opening and I adore every minute of it ! We specialize in custom cakes, cupcakes and cookies but sell lots of other yummy treats !

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who taught you the most about work?
My parents taught me most about work. I have the absolute best parents in the world. They raised me and my amazing sister to be kind, loving and hard working. Those traits from childhood have really carried into my adult life and helped me so much in being successful.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
I think anyone who has owned a business has thought about giving up at some point. It’s not easy and there are always battles to fight. Though if your doing your job right the positives always out weigh the negatives and make it all worth it.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say happiness , positivity and freedom matters to me. Happiness in my life and my family’s happiness is most important to me. Freedom in enjoying what I do for a living and staying positive is such a game changer in life.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I definitely think I was born to do what I am doing. I was never pressured into a specific career. Just taught to work hard for something that makes you happy. Life is too short to spend everyday doing something you hate.
