Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Bianca McDown Reber of Spring

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Bianca McDown Reber. Check out our conversation below.

Bianca, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What are you chasing, and what would happen if you stopped?
I’m chasing impact. This word came to me years ago and I remember writing it down in my notes late at night. I wrote, how am I impacting the world? Others?

“Impact” means creating a meaningful difference. It’s not just about doing something big; it’s about doing something that leaves others better off, and it’s where you work towards the best version of yourself. I always tell my son that his main goal daily should be to do things that make him better each and every day.

If I stopped chasing impact, I think I’d feel disconnected from my purpose. Honestly, I feel like 90% of people don’t really understand their purpose, and it makes me sad! If I could I would coach and help each and every single person find it. I know that we were all born to do something incredible with our lives, but very few chase impact and purpose.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Bianca Reber, a marketing strategist, entrepreneur, and passionate storyteller. I help brands connect with people in a way that’s real, human, and impactful. Whether I’m leading a campaign, building out a brand, or launching something new (like my upcoming book), I’m always chasing one thing: purpose. I started VoxxVoice, a marketing and advertising agency, almost 11 years ago. I have an amazing team and LOVE my clients! I work with companies in all industries. From oil & gas, tech, finance, ERP, security… you name it!

Whether it’s helping clients break through in their industry or reminding people they’re not “just” anything (mom, marketer, creative…), my mission is simple: to make an impact.

I’ve finally finished my first book (details coming soon), and I’m excited to launch it! I’m also currently building another company that I can’t talk about quite yet, but more to come.

I’m in the gym lifting heavy weights 6 days a week, no matter what. If there is one thing people walk away with today, it’s put your health first! We all want more time with those that we love so put yourself first and work out and eat healthy!

I have a 8-month-old baby boy and a 8-year-old boy. My sons are my everything and my why for all that I do.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
In college, I threw college parties as a job! Now by parties I mean massive block parties with bands, singers, renting out a huge event center etc. Not small apartment college parties, ones that you had to pay an entrance fee to attend. I remember my first one where I shut down a road in town and brought in a huge stage and hired local bands to come play. I had NO idea what I was doing, but I knew figuring it out would teach me how.

I still remember the moment of going up on stage and welcoming out the 500+ people that arrived. I remember looking out at the crowd and thinking…. I did this. I brought all these excited, happy people together.

From that day on, I became addicted to creating. Working on something so hard, and executing it…. now that is true power. The power lies in the action though. So many people tend to always plan and never do… ACT! Action = power.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Don’t think you have time… live as if you don’t.

When I think back to my high school years, I can pinpoint so many goals and ideas that I had that I left til “tomorrow” because I thought I always had it. Did I have that tomorrow, yes, I’m here writing this 15 years later but looking back I realize I always put it off again and again until it never happened. I think many of us do that and we need to stop!

Stop waiting for the perfect moment. Start now, even if it’s messy and imperfect. And most importantly, stop caring about what others think. I think a lot of those “tomorrows” took place because I cared way too much about what people thought. The funny thing is that I haven’t thought about those people once in 15 years… so my advice.. erase tomorrow from your vocabulary and stop caring about what people think.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
My Dad. It’s funny, my Dad is a very successful healthcare executive… but it’s not his success and power that I admire first. It’s his character.

He taught me that nothing is impossible if you work for it, that excuses only hold you back, and that every day is better when lived with gratitude.

Growing up, he worked a lot. Long hours, stressful work with a lot of travel, but I never once heard him complain. He led by example: with humility, discipline, and an unwavering sense of purpose. His quiet strength shaped how I view work, resilience, and what truly matters in life.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
Potential.

The hardest thing for me is to watch people waste their potential. I think about it all the time. I see what people are capable of, sometimes even before they do, and it honestly breaks my heart when they don’t go after it, When they settle. When they stop believing in themselves. When they come up with excuse after excuse. I’ve always believed that everyone has something special in them, but not everyone gives themselves permission to chase it. That’s the hardest thing for me to watch.

I believe one of the greatest tragedies is not failure, it’s potential that never had the chance to become something more.
