Marybel Yanez shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Marybel, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I wake up everyday at 5am, before my daughter and my husband does. I meditate with essential oils and healing sounds. Sometimes I prefer to study something interesting, like now I am studying John Maxwell 15 laws of growth, I make notes, and write down actions that I want to implement.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am a nutritionist and I studied Functional Medicine to see the hall picture from my clients and to treat all their symptoms from the root. So I’ve learnt to reed the tongue in Chinesse Medicine, and that’s a big difference with other nutritionist, that I use that method to diagnose patients and give them a complete treatment. I am working in my own vitamin company with high standard quality supplements.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
I had two moments in my life that made me see this world so different. One was, 10 years ago, when I was famous in my country, with a new appartment paid by me in 2 years, fame, trophies and attending tv or radio interviews. That’s why I moved to Houston to start a new life, to learn how to live a new life.
And last one, last November, when I was diagnosed with Endometriosis and Colitis Ulcerative, both autoimmune diseases. In both cases, I had everything but I was feeling alone and lost. What I was doing was not enjoyable. After I had an hysterectomy, two months ago, I decided to make a big change again.
Life is not just only money, or to be famous, is about acepting you and enjoying yourself in this present moment.
When you were sad or scared as a child, what helped?
When I was a child I felt ugly and with low self-esteem. I think my mom was soo strict that made me fell that way. But it helped in a certain way because out of my house I was so confident that everybody could only see my strengths. I was a good student with good grades, intelligent, and good in everything. I received awards and diplomas. But in a certain way the low self esteem comes once in a while.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Socialmedia and Tv enterviews made me feel much more confident that in those days in my childhood. Because I can be me, and express myself. I feel accepted but at the same time, loved by myself.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
Success is not what you have or you can pay, is what you live, when you live, and with whom you live it. I dream about teaching people different ways of living. I am writing my first book about it, and how we coudl change our lives just changes our mind.
