Story & Lesson Highlights with Jimmy Enloe of Willis

We recently had the chance to connect with Jimmy Enloe and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Jimmy, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
You know, I think a lot of people assume that being a wedding DJ or running a photo booth company is just about showing up and pressing play—or setting up some gear and letting it run. But let me ask you something: Have you ever been to a wedding where the energy felt flat, or things didn’t flow the way they should’ve?

That’s usually where the misconception lies.

Most people don’t realize how much thought and planning goes into what we do. From the very first conversation, we’re asking things like, “How do you want your guests to feel during your reception?” or “What kind of moments do you want people to talk about a year from now?”

So rather than just playing music, we’re helping craft an experience—from curating the perfect vibe, managing timelines behind the scenes, troubleshooting surprises, and reading the room moment by moment.

What couples often discover is that we become more like experience coordinators than just entertainers. And once they see the difference that level of care and intentionality makes, they usually say something like, “Wow—I had no idea how much this would impact the whole day.”

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Jimmy Enloe, owner of Enloe Entertainment based in Houston, Texas. We specialize in bringing weddings to life through high-energy DJ services, interactive photo booths, SketchBots, and unique experiences like silent discos and dancing on a cloud.

But here’s the thing—we’re not just about the gear or flashy add-ons. We’re in the business of moments. The kind you’ll remember long after the cake is gone and the sparklers have faded.

Our team is known for being ultra-personal, detail-obsessed, and all about connection. Couples often tell us, “We felt like you were part of the family by the end of the night”—and honestly, that’s the goal. You meet us as clients, and leave us as family.

Right now, we’re working on even more immersive experiences for weddings—think interactive trading cards for guests, personalized AI sketches, and creative ways to make every event feel one-of-a-kind. We love blending nostalgia, tech, and a little magic to make celebrations unforgettable.

If you’re looking for someone who will sweat the small stuff so you don’t have to—and who truly cares about your big day—we’d love to be part of your story.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
Honestly, it was my dad. Growing up, I watched him show up early, stay late, and do every job like it mattered—because to him, it did. I remember asking once, “Why are you working so hard on something no one will even notice?” and he said, “Because that’s what integrity looks like—even when no one’s watching.”

That stuck with me.

It taught me that work isn’t just about what you do—it’s how you do it. That mindset shapes everything at Enloe Entertainment. Whether we’re DJing in front of 200 people or setting up a photo booth before guests arrive, we bring that same level of care, energy, and intentionality.

Because at the end of the day, people may not remember every detail—but they will remember how they felt. And that’s the part we take seriously.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I’d say, “You’re not behind—you’re just building.”

There were times I felt like I had to have it all figured out, like if I wasn’t moving fast enough, I was somehow failing. But looking back, every late night, every risk, every moment of doubt was laying the groundwork for something bigger than I could see at the time.

So I’d remind younger me that growth isn’t always loud or obvious. Sometimes it looks like learning the hard way, or showing up when no one’s clapping. But it all matters—and it all adds up.

Just keep going. You’re becoming someone you’ll be proud of.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies is: “It’s not personal—it’s just business.”

In the wedding industry, everything is personal. We’re not selling just services—we’re showing up for one of the most emotional, high-stakes days in someone’s life. When vendors treat weddings like a transaction instead of a relationship, that’s where the magic gets lost.

Another lie? That “good enough” is actually good enough. Some companies get by doing the bare minimum because most couples don’t know what’s possible. But that mindset limits the experience. We’ve seen firsthand how much of a difference it makes when vendors go the extra mile—when they genuinely care.

At Enloe Entertainment, we don’t believe in just checking boxes. We believe in creating moments people feel. Because when all is said and done, no one remembers the checklist—they remember the energy.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. When have you had to bet the company?
Honestly? It was when we started offering services that no one had seen before—like our SketchBot, trading card activations, or even things like silent disco headphones. These weren’t “safe” bets. They were outside-the-box ideas that required serious investment in gear, training, and time… without any guarantee couples or corporate clients would go for it.

I remember asking myself, “What if this doesn’t land? What if we’re too early?” But at some point, you have to trust your gut and say, “What if we’re setting a new standard instead?”

And that’s what happened. People didn’t just love it—they started telling their friends about it. Venues started calling us the most creative vendor they’d worked with. And it confirmed something I deeply believe: If you’re willing to take the risk and lead with value, the right clients will follow.

So yeah—we’ve bet the company a few times. But every time, it’s been worth it.
