Today we’d like to introduce you to Molly McGinty.
Hi Molly, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
After graduating from The University of Texas, I began my career working for a couple of title companies, thinking I’d found my long-term path. It turned out not to be the perfect fit, but it was a gift in disguise—I met incredible Realtors® and learned so much about the title side of the industry and what it takes to get a deal to the closing table. Even back then, there was always a little voice inside me whispering, “You’d make a great Realtor—if only you’d be brave enough to try.”
Instead, I pivoted. I went to graduate school and spent the next 16 years serving in Student Support Services in public education in northwest Houston. It was deeply meaningful work, but that voice never completely went away. Eventually, I decided to listen. I got my real estate license, terrified of failure, and promised myself I’d just “do it afraid.”
That leap of faith has turned into nearly a decade in real estate, over $90M in sales, and a career that’s allowed me to combine strategy with compassion. Today, I specialize in guiding clients through life’s big transitions—whether it’s probate, divorce, relocation, or finding the home of their dreams. Looking back, I can see that every chapter of my journey prepared me for this one.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been the smoothest road. My first three years in real estate were exciting—I felt like I had the wind in my sails and the confidence to finally leave my part-time support job to go all in. And then, almost immediately, the world shut down.
I’ll never forget the day deals started falling apart, listings were terminated, and I thought to myself, “Wow… this is how it ends.” It was a scary moment. But as quickly as the industry stalled, it also came roaring back. Suddenly, we were navigating one of the wildest markets in history. I was so grateful that I had both the experience and the determination to keep moving forward. That season reminded me that resilience isn’t optional in this business—it’s essential.
Beyond market challenges, I’ve also faced my own personal ups and downs, the kind we all walk through in life. But through it all, I’ve kept my priorities clear: my family and my clients. Staying grounded in those values has helped me build a business—and a life—that I’m incredibly proud of. Nothing worth having ever comes easily, but the journey has been worth every hurdle.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a full-time Realtor® based in Houston, and I’ve built my business around helping people through some of life’s biggest transitions. While I work with a wide range of buyers and sellers, I specialize in probate sales, divorcing couples, and corporate relocations—situations that can be emotional, complex, and sometimes overwhelming. My role is to bring clarity, compassion, and strategy to the table so my clients feel supported every step of the way.
Over the past nearly ten years, what I’m most proud of isn’t the numbers sold—it’s the trust behind it. I’ve been honored to represent families during moments of both celebration and heartache, and I never take that responsibility lightly. My background in education gave me a foundation in patience, problem-solving, and advocacy, and those qualities now shape the way I approach real estate.
Professionally, I’ve invested in becoming a Master Certified Negotiation Expert, a Senior Real Estate Specialist, and a Luxury Property Specialist—credentials that equip me to deliver results in a variety of markets. But at the end of the day, what sets me apart is a blend of heart and hustle. I’m fiercely protective of my clients’ best interests, but I also lead with empathy. My brand, MollySoldIt, is built on being approachable, candid, and deeply committed to helping people move forward.
Along the way, I’ve also been fortunate to share my expertise on larger platforms. I’ve spoken on stages at national real estate conferences, been published in Inman, and even appeared on HGTV’s Beachfront Bargain Hunt. Those opportunities have been exciting, but they’ve also reinforced that my greatest impact happens one-on-one—sitting across the table from a client, helping them navigate one of the most important decisions of their lives.
What makes me proudest is knowing that my clients don’t just see me as their Realtor—they see me as their advocate, their resource, and often, their friend. That’s the legacy I want to build.
Any big plans?
Looking ahead, my biggest goal is simple: to keep serving my clients at the highest level while staying consistent and steady in my business. Real estate is always evolving, but what never changes is the importance of showing up for people with honesty, expertise, and care. That’s the foundation I plan to keep building on.
On a personal note, I’m entering a new chapter as a mom—my daughter just started college (Geaux Tigers!), and I’m looking forward to carving out time to visit her and cheer her on in this exciting season of her life. Family has always been my anchor, so making space for more quality time with them is high on my list.
Professionally, I’m also excited about expanding my voice in the industry—whether through speaking, writing, or my new podcast with my friend and fellow Realtor Heidi Harris. It’s another way to connect, share, and hopefully inspire. At the end of the day, it’s about balance: growing my business, giving back to my clients, and soaking up the moments with the people I love most.
