Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Green.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Lauren Green, I’m 34 years old, born and raised in Katy, and a proud Katy High School graduate. I’ve always had a love for animals, and my career began at just 16, working in kennels and caring for pets at various facilities in Katy and the surrounding areas. At 18, I decided to attend pet grooming school at Golden Paws in Houston.
Seven years later, I took a leap and started my own business from home. A year after that, I opened my first storefront—but unfortunately, it was flooded during Hurricane Harvey. I returned to working from home and gradually rebuilt my business, expanding my home salon.
In October 2024, I returned to a brick-and-mortar location, where we now offer grooming, daycare, and boarding services. After working at multiple facilities offering similar services, my vision was to reinvent the industry—not just provide basic pet care, but create a “home away from home” for pets.
Our small pet retreat specializes in the highest quality grooming, while also giving our furry clients a fun and engaging environment. Whether it’s extra cuddles, splash pads, baby pools, ball pits, or endless games of fetch, our staff goes above and beyond to ensure every pet gets the attention they deserve. Our goal is simple: play as much as possible so they sleep well at night!
We’ve received wonderful feedback from our customers, and it’s been such a blessing to see our vision come to life.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. Learning to groom is challenging in itself—it takes years of practice, patience, and a genuine love for dogs to truly master the craft. You’re constantly learning, and continuing education is essential. On top of that, I faced losing my first shop during Hurricane Harvey and had to start over from scratch. I’ve also had to deal with a former employer who stalks and harasses me, leaving fake reviews and spreading false accusations and slander online, which has been an ongoing nightmare.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Our specialty is the quality of the work we do—our portfolio speaks for itself! Beyond that, we have the most gentle, caring staff who ensure every visit is a positive experience for both our customers and their fur babies. Plus, we go the extra mile by sending report cards for grooming, daycare, and boarding at no extra cost!
What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is the safety and well-being of every pet in our care. I believe it’s essential for our staff to develop a personal relationship with each animal so we can tell if they’re not acting like themselves or just having an off day. Equally important is providing the best possible service—quality over quantity. That’s why we limit the number of pets we care for each day, ensuring each one gets the attention and care they deserve.
