Conversations with Daniel Blain

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Blain.

Hi Daniel, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve been dancing for over 30 years and working professionally for nearly two decades.
My training spans a wide range of styles—from hip hop and contemporary to tap and ballroom. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with many of the major ballroom dance companies, experiences that shaped me not only as a performer but also as a studio owner and mentor.

In 2018, I opened my first dance studio, which I proudly sold in 2025. By 2021, I had already launched my second ballroom studio, which continues to thrive and grow today. At our studio, our mission goes beyond just teaching dance steps—we focus on helping both students and professionals build confidence, body awareness, emotional connection, and control.

We aren’t just a dance studio; we’re a community. Along with group and private lessons, we host studio outings, dinners, social events, and fun trips that bring people together through movement, connection, and shared experiences.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
“Like most entrepreneurs, the biggest obstacle I faced wasn’t money or competition—it was the lack of faith and support from the people closest to me. Friends. Family.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As I said earlier our studio, we do more than just teach dance, we help people grow.
Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned professional, our mission is to build confidence, body awareness, emotional connection, and control through movement.

We’re not just a dance studio. We are a community.
In addition to private and group lessons, we host studio outings, dinners, social events, and unforgettable trips that bring people together. It’s about more than steps it’s about connection, growth, and shared joy on and off the dance floor.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
One of my favorite childhood memories is what we used to do on stormy or rainy days.
My parents, my brother, and I would move the coffee table and sofa, lay a blanket down in the middle of the living room, pick a movie, and have an indoor picnic.
It was simple, but it was just us. Nice, warm, and comforting.
