Meet Megan And Jamal Mohsin of Vitality Medical Clinic, PLLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan And Jamal Mohsin.

Hi Megan and Jamal, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Dr. Jamal Mohsin, and I founded Vitality Medical Clinic with a shared vision to create a place where internal medicine and psychiatry come together to treat the whole person. For us, this clinic isn’t just a business—it’s the culmination of years of experience, growth, and the desire for a truly patient-centered clinic.

I am a North Florida native, born and raised there in a small town called Live Oak. I started my nursing career in 2017, working across med-surg, orthopedics, ICU, neuro, and PCU inpatient units. Along the way, I also had the privilege of serving as Director of an allied health program and clinical coordinator at a local high school—something that deepened my love for education and mentoring future healthcare workers. I became a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2022 and earned my certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in 2024.

Dr. Mohsin, a Chicago native, brings over ten years of experience in Internal Medicine. His journey has taken him through Georgia, New York, and Florida, working in high-pressure environments like trauma and burn centers at major hospitals. He also was on the front lines during the Covid pandemic in Florida where he treated many critically ill patients. In January 2024, we were ready for a change and moved our family to Texas, to explore new opportunities and chase our dream.

Together, Dr. Mohsin and I envisioned Vitality Medical Clinic as a place where patients feel seen, heard, and genuinely cared for. We believe deeply in treating the whole person, addressing both the physical and emotional wellbeing of our patients.

At Vitality, we pride ourselves on creating a welcoming, respectful environment where patients aren’t rushed or overlooked. We look to develop a long lasting relationship with all our patients and hope to provide a space where integrity, evidence-based medicine, and personalized care come together.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting over is never easy—even for seasoned medical professionals. For Dr. Jamal and Megan Mohsin, the founders of Vitality Medical Clinic, the decision to move their family and careers to Texas in early 2024 was more than just a relocation—it was a bold leap into the unknown.

After years of working in large hospital systems and academic settings across Florida, New York, and beyond, the Mohsins knew they wanted something different: a chance to build something of their own. Something deeply personal. But that vision came with its fair share of uncertainty.

“Leaving behind stability, colleagues, and familiarity wasn’t a decision we took lightly,” says Dr. Jamal Mohsin. “We had spent over a decade growing in our respective careers, and suddenly, we were in a new city with no established network, no referrals, and no guarantees.”

For Megan, who had just completed her second nurse practitioner certification in psychiatry, the move meant transitioning from student and educator into full-time clinical leadership—without the safety net of a large institution. “There were moments of doubt,” she admits. “We were not only adjusting to a new community and healthcare environment, but we were also trying to raise our family and start a business from scratch. It was overwhelming at times.”

The early months were filled with long nights, regulatory hurdles, countless phone calls, and the quiet fear that comes with wondering if it would all work out. From negotiating a clinic space to establishing relationships with local providers, payers, and patients, every step required grit, faith, and teamwork.

But it was in those challenges that their mission solidified. “We didn’t want to just open another clinic,” Megan says. “We wanted to create a space that reflected everything we’ve learned—through work, life, and our own struggles. A place where patients don’t feel rushed or reduced to symptoms. Where both physical and mental health are treated with equal importance.”

Today, Vitality Medical Clinic is not just a practice—it’s a reflection of their journey, their values, and their resilience. The Mohsins have planted new roots in Texas, and their story is still being written—one patient, one day, and one act of courage at a time.

Family is at the heart of everything I do. I cherish the time I spend with my husband, our two children, and even our spirited five-pound Chihuahua. While I am dedicated to working hard in my professional life, I also believe it’s essential to prioritize family and carve out time to recharge.

Outside of work, I enjoy practicing yoga, staying active through exercise, and exploring my love for cooking and baking.

In my career, what brings me the greatest fulfillment is witnessing the positive impact I can have on my patients’ lives. Whether through medication management or behavioral therapy, seeing individuals experience meaningful change and regain a sense of well-being is profoundly rewarding. That transformation is what inspires and brings true joy to my heart.
