Hi Hayley, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
We’ve always been a sports family. Baseball and volleyball have been at the center of our lives from the start. My husband was drafted by the Atlanta Braves and spent time playing in their minor leagues, while I played collegiate volleyball at Texas Tech. Now it’s our kids’ turn. They’re all still in elementary school—from Pre-K to 5th grade—but between tournament baseball, school ball, and whatever else they get into, our weekends are packed with games.
Like a lot of kids, our boys started wearing all the new baseball brands with the loud patterns—ice cream cones, wild colors, and all the trendy stuff. It was fun, but after a while we realized something: most of it didn’t really have much to do with baseball at all. It looked sporty, sure, but it didn’t feel like the game we love.
That’s where Hotbox came from (The term “hotbox” is slang for a rundown in baseball for when a runner gets caught between bases). We wanted something that actually connected back to the sport—the sayings, the dugout moments, the plays that only baseball families really understand. Instead of random designs, we started making gear inspired by baseball itself.
For us, Hotbox is more than a clothing brand. It’s a piece of our family’s story and the culture we’re raising our kids in. We’ve seen firsthand how sports are shaping not just their skills, but who they are becoming.

It’s bene running fairly smooth so far. The most difficult thing so far was getting the website up and running.
