Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren.
Hi Lauren, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I come from a family of six—three sisters, a dad who worked as a mason, and a mom who stayed home with us. We didn’t have much growing up, but we had love, and that shaped me. My husband’s story is similar—he didn’t come from much either. Honestly, when we first started out, both of us were walking down the wrong path. Life was messy, and we had a rough start. But when we gave our lives to Jesus and leaned into His grace, everything began to change. What felt impossible slowly became possible.
I met my husband at 19, and for the last 17 years we’ve been building a life together—through both the hardest seasons and the sweetest ones. Today, we’ve been blessed with five incredible children. My husband now works as a CPO manager of sales, and I get to stay home with our kids while pouring my heart into different places of service.
I’m a CFISD Leadership graduate and was honored to be named February’s Ambassador of the Month for the leadership committee in Texas’ third largest district. I’ll also be participating on the Long-Range Planning Committee, helping develop a facility plan recommendation for the Board of Trustees. On top of that, I serve as VP of Communications on my children’s elementary PTO board, help lead women’s ministry at Bayou City Fellowship, and love teaching large group lessons to our elementary kids at church.
Through it all, writing has been my safe space—a place to process both the ordinary and the overwhelming. I’ve guest written for platforms like Fierce Parenting and New York Times bestselling author Darlene Schacht of Time Warp Wife. That journey inspired me to start my own blog, Mom Faith Fumbles. It’s where I share the real parts of life—the little things, like spilled coffee on the kitchen floor, and the big things, like near-divorce moments that nearly broke us. It’s my way of telling the truth about life’s hardest parts, while also pointing to God’s unshakable goodness and faithfulness.
I’ve also taken my love for teaching and created curriculum sets for Teachers Pay Teachers, where I run my own store.
If there’s one theme woven through my story, it’s that I don’t give up. God has met us in the lowest valleys and on the highest mountaintops. He took our broken beginnings and used them to build a testimony of redemption, unity, and blessings beyond anything we could have dreamed. And my hope is that by sharing my story—both the struggles that still happen today and the victories only God could bring—other women will find comfort, courage, and the reminder that they’re never alone.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has been anything but smooth, but it’s been covered in God’s grace. My husband and I are both recovering addicts—10 years sober now—and I can’t help but thank God every day for that miracle. We’ve been in seasons where we didn’t have a car, where groceries felt out of reach, and yet six years ago we got to celebrate buying our very first home—something I never dreamed would happen. I grew up with a mom who struggled with alcoholism from the time I was 13, and now she’s walking in sobriety too. I’ve had to figure out so much on my own—SEO, website building, editing, all of it—but I’ve learned that with God’s faithfulness and the steady support of my best friend, my husband, there’s always a way forward. What once felt impossible has turned into a testimony of His goodness.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Mom faith fumbles?
I’m someone who has truly lived out the hard. I wasn’t raised with a silver spoon in my mouth—far from it. Every milestone I’ve reached has been by God’s strength and a lot of perseverance through trials that could have easily broken me. Because of that, my heartbeat has always been to build a platform that’s authentic and vulnerable, one that doesn’t shy away from the messy parts of life. I share it all—the small, funny “mom fail” moments, the deep wounds, the victories, and the ongoing struggles—because I believe that’s where God’s goodness shines the brightest.
That desire to encourage women through real-life faith is what led me to write my book, A Woman Once Lost, a 30-day devotional filled with hope. It’s one of the things I’m most proud of because it was born out of some of my hardest seasons and now serves as a reminder to women everywhere that no matter how broken or lost they may feel, God is still writing their story.
Through my brand, Mom Faith Fumbles, I get to create spaces and resources that meet women right where they are. I write blog posts that dive into the realities of motherhood and faith, I design Christian curriculum for kids on Teachers Pay Teachers, and I share encouragement daily on social media to remind women they’re not alone. What sets me apart is that I don’t pretend to have it all together. I’d rather be a glass house—open and real—so that others feel free to be real too.
At the end of the day, what I want readers and followers to know about my brand is this: it’s not about perfection, it’s about God’s faithfulness. Whether I’m writing devotionals, creating teaching resources, or sharing a piece of my own messy story, my prayer is always the same—that women walk away feeling seen, encouraged, and reminded that God can use even the hardest chapters for His glory.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
My biggest advice is to stick with what you love. Everyone will have an opinion—people told me more than once to pick one thing and just pursue that, but that’s not who I am. I love to do it all, and I’ve chosen to keep walking the path God has placed me on, with Him always at the center. Looking back, I wish I knew sooner that it’s okay to build differently, to lean into the passions God has given you, and to trust that He’ll use them all for His purpose.
