Tatiana Jones-Waldon of Pearland area on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We recently had the chance to connect with Tatiana Jones-Waldon and have shared our conversation below.

Tatiana , really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day looks like, what calm feels like. I wake up, thank God for another day that was not promised on top of keeping everyone I know safe and protected and covered by him. I also take 2-3 minutes to take a deep breath before my feet hit the floor because after that, its go time. I become the mom and wife with 8 arms, multitasking by starting a load of laundry while checking emails. Though it might sound chaotic, I am forever grateful for it all.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am Tatiana Jones-Waldon the owner and founder of The Salad Trap. A small business I started in my kitchen that has expanded in different dynamics. My business started off with me wanting to create and bring a healthy, fresh experience to everyone in my area with salads, sandwiches and soups. What makes my business different from others is quality or quantity. I take full pride in offering fresh ingredients and that everything is made to order. Fresh produce, protein and a valued customer experience. The Salad Trap also offers catering services from graduations, to weddings, to birthday parties. I wanted people to know that healthier options can be exciting as well.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My grandparents, they instilled morals, goals and values. They saw my potential before I did and the legacy I would leave behind for generations to come.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Absolutely, there has been several times I wanted to give up. Times when I would compare my business to others, times when I had people tell me negative things about my business intead of being supportive. I have learned over the years, that your vision/dream is simply that, YOURS. Its not your parents, not your friends, not your co-workers its simply yours and you have to be strong minded to not give up and to stay consistent.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say, my children and living life to the fullest is what really matters to me. Life is short and we are not promised the next day, so enjoy every moment, learn from the mistakes, dont dwell on the past and to keep pushing forward to whatever goal/dreams you have for yourself.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope that people tell the story of perseverance. That I set the tone of, you can do anything. You can do it all , that I never needed anyone’s permission or approval to live out the life I wanted for my family and I.
