Monee’ Perry’s Stories, Lessons & Insights

Monee’ Perry shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Monee’, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
So much has brought me joy lately but if I have to summarize it, it would be the fact I finally am able to see my growth in all facets of my life. Looking back at Monee’ 2 years ago is a completely differential person. I am now more at peace, have met some amazing god send people and am just so happy to see my children grow and thrive as well. I think a lot of times our lives get really busy and we overlook the blessings we have on a daily basis. I am truly grateful.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello Everyone!

My name is Monee’ Perry, and I am the founder of Mo KO Health and Wellness Services. My company offers personal training, as well as holistic health services ranging from nutritional guidance to customized supplements and healing jewelry. I have been in the fitness/health and wellness industry for over 15 years. Through this journey, I have helped a diverse number of people find their healthy lifestyle. Seeing a client reach their goal not only physically but spiritually and mentally is so rewarding. Our motto is that health is truly a LIFEstyle Essential. What I mean by that is it’s about your vitality in life, not just what you wear on the outside. This uniqueness is what has separated me from a lot of similar companies. Not only do I focus on the physical body with workouts, but I also focus on the dynamics going on internally. It’s truly a journey mentally and spiritually. For example, a client may look to the normal eye to be in pretty good shape but may be battling internal ailments often overlooked as minor. This is where I happily offer my help in finding the root cause and a lasting solution.

Currently, I have been marketing my new fresh-pressed juice service as well as my customized training and nutritional guidance.

Mo KO plans on holding an outdoor bootcamp in the energy corridor every summer as well as specialized group sessions. So stay posted.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
Time and growth breaks the bond between people. As we live our day-to-day lives, we are constantly learning and growing. Maybe at rates we may not like nor are openly willing to do so, however, as time progresses, our need to either build stronger bonds with people reaches a crossroads. I think people can restore a bond when both individuals are on the same page and have the ability and/or willingness to communicate. When growth looks similar, and there is no need to feel you have to explain who you are or what you feel for someone to relate or have empathy. Not all bonds can be restored, but I do believe that at some point in the relationship with someone your growth decides if its a make it or break it situation.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell myself, “You are deserving”. Through my personal struggle, I have found that we reach a point sometimes where we want to give up, because the fight can be long and tiring, and there seems to be no end in sight. I have had a few battles in my lifetime. I think if my younger self had known she was deserving, I believe my journey would have been different. It would have been more accepting of good people, genuine love, acknowledgement of hard work, and appreciation of my authentic self. I think my journey and my desire to help people would have happened sooner had I have known that I deserve great things in life.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
The reason I decided to join the fitness, health, and wellness industry 15 years ago was due to my own battle with my weight. It has been a journey of self-love, and I am committed to helping others on their journey. It has its ebbs and flows, and it truly is a journey, but when you can find a routine that works for you, the reward is amazing. It truly is healing on all levels.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
When I leave this life, I hope everyone says I was the true image of impossible. My life story was meant for me to be unkind, miserable, and lost; however I am far from any of that. I am a kind, big-hearted, and genuine person. My love for life shows in my work and how I interact with people. My purpose to help and heal people on all levels can be explained through all the people I have been able to help over the past 20 years. I hope I have given people hope and faith in the ability to make the best out of the worst and that nothing is impossible.
