Padon Suber shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Padon , so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What is a normal day like for you right now?
A typical day for me starts with a 10-minute stretch routine, followed by a few moments of quiet reflection. I’ll grab some fruit and oatmeal for breakfast, then dive into emails and administrative tasks. The first part of my day is usually dedicated to answering messages, scheduling upcoming events, and making preparations for current projects. I make sure to carve out an hour or two to relax and recharge before shifting my focus to practicing my instruments for the remainder of the day. This balance keeps me grounded and creatively inspired.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Padon Suber, founder of P.Sub Productions, where we deliver live music entertainment and music production services. My career has taken me from directing musical stage plays and composing for short films to producing tracks for a range of talented artists. I’m proud to have recently received a Nexus Film Achievement Award as a music artist, which reflects my dedication to both my craft and my clients.
What makes P.Sub Productions unique is our commitment to a consistently professional and highly personalized experience. Every project is tailored to fit the client’s vision, and our five-star reputation is built on delivering soulful, memorable music—whether for the stage, film, or live events.
Currently, I’m working on a new R&B album that I’m really excited about. I just released a featured track from the album called “Date Night,” which gives listeners a taste of the smooth, heartfelt sound I love to create. At the core of everything I do is a genuine love for music and a drive to make every project special.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
I’d have to say my parents saw my potential before I did—they invested in my musical journey early on and always believed in my talent. My brother, Phillip Suber, has been a constant source of encouragement, always pushing me to expand my creative boundaries and try new things musically. My sister, Remi Carter, has played a huge part as well, coaching me on how to truly maximize my gifts and make the most out of every opportunity. Their support and belief in me helped me see what was possible long before I realized it myself.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear that’s held me back the most has been not living up to my own expectations. As a creative, I set the bar high for myself, and sometimes that pressure made me second-guess my ideas or hesitate to share my work. Along with that, I’ve also struggled with the fear of not receiving approval for my music and services—especially when comparing myself to other brands in the industry. Being in the limelight and truly being noticed can be a scary thing at times. But over the years, I’ve learned that real growth comes from taking risks and embracing vulnerability. Pushing through those fears has allowed me to connect with people on a deeper level and create more authentically.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
The Entertainment industry lies —this is something I’ve experienced firsthand. Early on, I felt pressured to release music a certain way to fit industry norms or chase what was trending. But looking back, my most successful releases have always come from trusting my instincts and not confining myself to a single formula or mainstream niche. I used to think there was only one track to success, but the truth is, breaking out of that mindset led to my biggest wins.
My company and my name are built on the consistency and professionalism I bring to every project, whether it’s a major production or a small, intimate gig. I’ve learned that you don’t have to chase trends or compare yourself to other brands to make an impact. Instead, staying true to my vision, focusing on authentic connections, and delivering high-quality work has set me apart far more than following any industry blueprint.
At the end of the day, the music industry’s biggest misconception is that there’s only one formula for success. My journey is proof that carving your own path and embracing your unique sound can open doors you never expected.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. How do you know when you’re out of your depth?
I believe being “out of your depth” is really a mental concept. For every opportunity that comes my way, I trust that the means to handle it are also provided—it’s just a matter of whether I’m willing to stretch my mindset and grow into the challenge. The only real limit is my own willingness to learn and adapt.
That said, I know I’m out of my depth when I start to feel consistently overwhelmed or unable to find clarity, even after putting in the work and seeking guidance. In those moments, I try to view it not as a setback, but as a chance to expand my skills and push my boundaries. For me, it’s all about embracing the growth that comes with stepping outside my comfort zone, and trusting that I can rise to meet whatever’s in front of me.
