We’re looking forward to introducing you to Cynthia Merisier. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Cynthia, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What is a normal day like for you right now?
Everyday life for me is full, but meaningful. I’m a mom of two boys and a wife, so family comes first in the mornings. Then it’s off to my 9-to-5, and once that’s done, I switch gears and focus on building a tax office with my business partner. We’re creating an all-women’s firm that we believe will be a pillar in the community for generations to come. It’s definitely a balancing act — family, career, and entrepreneurship — but it’s driven by purpose, and that’s what keeps me energized
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello, my name is Cynthia Merisier. I’m the co-founder of an all-women’s tax office that I’m currently building alongside my business partner. Beyond being an entrepreneur, I’m a wife, a mom of two boys, and most importantly, a lifelong student of knowledge and growth.
My passion goes far beyond tax preparation — I’m dedicated to creating a firm that focuses on empowerment, education, and building generational stability within our community. What makes our brand truly unique is that we are women-led in a field where that representation is still rare. We take pride in serving clients with both expertise and compassion, ensuring they feel supported every step of the way.
Our vision is to build not just a business, but a pillar in the community that will continue to stand strong for years to come.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child, I believed I had to have everything figured out perfectly before I could step out and do something big. I thought success belonged to people who always had a clear path laid out. Over time, I’ve learned that growth comes from taking imperfect action and learning along the way. Now I believe in my ability to figure things out as I go — and that mindset has allowed me to step into entrepreneurship while balancing being a mom, a wife, and a professional. I no longer wait for ‘perfect,’ I move with purpose
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
There were moments I felt like giving up — balancing motherhood, a 9-to-5, and starting a business felt impossible at times. But every time I thought about quitting, I remembered why I started: to build something lasting for my family and my community. That ‘why’ kept me going.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, the public version of me is the real me. I don’t try to put on a persona — what you see is what you get. I believe authenticity is what truly connects people, and my hope is that by just being myself, I attract the clients and community who value that same honesty and openness.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
What I understand deeply — that many people don’t — is the level of sacrifice and risk that comes with building something from the ground up. There’s the constant fear of failing, the reality of putting all your money in with little to no return at first, and the courage it takes to keep going anyway. I’ve learned that in order to make money, you have to be willing to invest money — and a lot of people are too afraid of the unknown to take that leap. Entrepreneurship is equal parts sacrifice, faith, and resilience.
