LaToya, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
About 15 years ago I was at a place where I wasn’t satisfied in my career. I wanted more out of life. I wanted to do something fulfilling that I had passion for and mostly I wanted to be an entrepreneur. Me being a person who is passionate about seeing our young people be the best they can be, I decided to put together a self-esteem curriculum to help students build confidence so they can thrive personally and academically. My first client was a local elementary school here in Houston where my daughter attended. I presented my curriculum to her teacher and asked for permission to come one day to teach the kids about self-esteem. She presented my curriculum to someone over her and the next day told me it was approved. We established a day and time for me to come and working with the kids that day was the moment I realized I really enjoyed doing this. At the time I was in school obtaining my bachelor’s degree in Business but also decided to get my certification in Life Coaching. That’s when it all started. From there I began to build my business little by little and now have grown from not only life coaching and mental health coaching but also contracting with businesses in the community as well as providing self-help resources such a e-books and audios to help individuals on their mental health healing journey. My company also provides multiple certificate and certification courses to help others add credentials to their name and resume and become entrepreneurs as well.. It’s been a rewarding journey.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Running a business will have its bumps in the road. It’s not always a smooth process and you will take some gains as well as some losses but the end result is worth the journey. With all businesses you will have challenges but that’s what builds you up and makes you stronger as you move forward.

I’m a certified life coach and mental health coach and owner of New Beginnings Life Coaching Academy. We specialize in working with youth and young adults in self-esteem, mental wellness, and personal development. We also offer self-help e-books and audios that help with mental wellness, self-esteem building, and business development. In addition we offer certificate and certification courses such as our Certified Life Coach Course, Mental Health Coach Course, Biblical Counselor Course , Youth Life Coach Course, and Holistic Health and Healing Practitioner Course.
