We recently had the chance to connect with Sandra Pham and have shared our conversation below.
Sandra, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Outside of work, something that’s been bringing me joy lately is exploring new cuisines and cultural traditions. I love seeing how people express themselves through food and celebrations—it sparks my creativity and inspires me to think about unique ways to make events more meaningful. This past summer, I had the opportunity to travel to different countries, which gave me fresh perspectives and ideas that I carry with me in my work.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Sandra Pham, and I am the Creative Director and Lead Wedding Planner at The Majestic Wedding. I founded The Majestic Wedding in Fall 2018 after working as an in-house coordinator at a local venue. While I loved planning events, I felt underappreciated in that role, and it inspired me to take the leap and pursue my dream of starting my own business.
At The Majestic Wedding, we offer a range of services including full-service wedding planning, partial planning, day-of coordination, DJ & entertainment, and photobooth rentals. What truly sets us apart is our commitment to continuous communication with our clients, our ability to design and deliver unforgettable events, and our dedicated team that shares a genuine passion for what we do.
As a new generation of couples begins their wedding journeys—navigating rising costs and an evolving market—we are continuing to adapt, innovate, and create new offerings that meet their needs. We’re excited about the projects we’re currently developing and look forward to bringing even more meaningful and memorable experiences to our couples.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
Starting my own business in 2018 was a defining moment for me. It was both exciting and challenging, but it taught me resilience and the importance of believing in myself. That leap into entrepreneurship showed me that passion and hard work can create opportunities, even when the path isn’t straightforward. It also shaped how I see the world by reinforcing the value of adaptability and self-trust. Today, that perspective influences the way I work with couples: I approach each wedding as more than just an event—it’s an opportunity to honor their story, culture, and individuality in a way that feels deeply meaningful.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me lessons that success alone never could. When I left my role as an in-house coordinator to start The Majestic Wedding in 2018, it wasn’t easy—there were moments of uncertainty, financial pressure, and self-doubt. But those struggles taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of believing in myself. Success is rewarding, but it doesn’t teach you how to push through when things feel uncertain. That experience shaped me into a stronger leader, and today it helps me guide couples through the stressful parts of wedding planning with empathy, patience, and confidence
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies in the wedding industry is the idea that everything has to be perfect. The truth is, no event ever goes exactly according to plan—and that’s okay. What really matters are the joy, love, and memories created that day. I often remind couples that it’s the little imperfections that make their wedding more personal and memorable.
Another misconception is that a bigger budget automatically means a better wedding. In reality, the most meaningful celebrations are the ones that reflect the couple’s story—not just their spending. Some of the most beautiful weddings I’ve planned have been the most intimate.
Finally, the industry often pushes a one-size-fits-all vision of what a wedding “should” look like. But every couple has their own traditions, cultures, and personalities. The most unforgettable weddings are the ones that break the mold and celebrate those unique stories. That’s exactly what I’ve built The Majestic Wedding around—helping couples embrace what feels true to them instead of chasing perfection or trends.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What light inside you have you been dimming?
I think the light I had been dimming was both my joy in the process and, at times, my self-belief. In focusing so much on making everything seamless for clients, I sometimes forgot to pause and celebrate the beauty of what I get to do. And as an entrepreneur, even with successes, there were moments when doubt crept in. What I’ve learned is to slow down, appreciate the small wins, and trust myself again. Remembering that my passion and dedication are what brought me here has helped me rediscover both my joy and the magic of creating meaningful moments of love for others.
