Ms. Serenity Taylor of West Houston on Life, Lessons & Legacy

Ms. Serenity Taylor shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Serenity, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
For the first 90 minutes of my day, I focus on alignment and intention. I usually start with quiet time—prayer, gratitude, or meditation—to ground myself and get my energy right. From there, I pour into myself before I pour into others: journaling, setting intentions for the day, and reviewing my top priorities.

Because consistency and discipline are at the core of how I coach my clients, I treat my mornings as my “power hours.” I map out my schedule, review my client sessions, and check in on what’s happening in the film and business spaces so I can bring fresh strategies and opportunities to the table.

Most mornings also include movement—whether that’s stretching, a walk, or just taking a moment to connect with my body—because I know the energy I carry will reflect in how I lead, coach, and serve throughout the day. By the time those 90 minutes are up, I’m in full BawseUp mode, ready to lead my clients, build brands, and help others step into their greatness.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Serenity Taylor, and I’m the founder of BawseUp Consulting Services and Booked & Branded, a Film Industry “Global” hub here in Houston. With over 16 years of experience in business consulting, branding, and marketing, I’ve helped thousands of entrepreneurs, creatives, and professionals build, launch, and grow their businesses with confidence.

What makes my work unique is that I don’t just teach strategy—I live it. My coaching and consulting program, Build, Brand & Generate Sales—BawseUp, is designed to give entrepreneurs, especially those in the film industry, the structure, branding, and marketing tools they need to stand out and generate consistent income. I work closely with actors, writers, producers, and directors, helping them not only position themselves in the industry but also build multiple streams of income around their talent.

In my 90-Day Film Business Coaching Program, I help actors, creatives, and filmpreneurs:
✅ Manifest and hit their career goals
✅ Build their brand & marketing presence
✅ Get BOOKED & position themselves for more opportunities

I like to say I bring both the business and the healing energy into the process. I guide people to stay disciplined, overcome fear, and stay consistent, because I know success isn’t just about strategies—it’s about mindset and alignment.

Right now, I’m really excited about Booked & Branded—Film Industry Houston “Global” Hub, which I’ve launched with my partners Ronson Hawkins of Book The Room and Rhonda Henley-Hawkins of Ready Set Book Consulting. It’s a space to connect, train, and position film industry creatives for greater opportunities while also creating a strong community of support. My mission is simple: to help people show up confidently, brand themselves with intention, and step fully into the careers and businesses they dream of.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
I believe what breaks the bonds between people is a lack of communication, trust, and authenticity. In both personal and professional spaces, when people stop showing up as their true selves, avoid the hard conversations, or let pride and fear create distance, relationships begin to weaken. I’ve seen this happen not just in life but also in the film and business industries, where comparison, miscommunication, or unspoken expectations can fracture collaborations and opportunities.

What restores those bonds is honesty, consistency, and intentional action. When you take the time to listen, communicate openly, and lead with integrity, trust is rebuilt. Extending grace is also powerful—we’re all human, and we all fall short sometimes. But when compassion and accountability are present, bonds can not only be repaired but actually strengthened.

In my 90-Day Business Coaching Program, I witness this transformation often. Many of my clients come in feeling disconnected from their goals or discouraged by broken collaborations. But through consistency, clarity, and intentional strategy, they rebuild trust in themselves—and that energy carries over into how they reconnect with others. At the end of the day, strong bonds are created when people feel seen, valued, and supported—and that’s what I work to cultivate in every space I lead.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could say one kind thing to my younger self, it would be, “You are enough, just as you are—and everything you’ve been through is preparing you for the impact you’re going to make.”

I’d remind her not to rush the process, not to shrink herself to fit in, and not to let fear dictate her decisions. Every challenge, every setback, and every detour was building resilience and shaping the leader I am today. I would tell her to embrace the journey, trust her gifts, and know that her voice and presence have purpose.

Most importantly, I’d let her know that she doesn’t have to carry everything alone—that alignment, faith, and consistency will guide her exactly where she’s meant to be.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
The public version of me is absolutely authentic, but it’s also intentional. I don’t wear a mask—what people see is a real part of who I am: my discipline, my compassion, and my commitment to helping others level up. That said, there are parts of my inner life I keep private because they’re sacred and need tending—the quiet work of healing, the messy moments, and the vulnerabilities I share only with close family and trusted clients.

For me, showing up publicly is a form of service: I lead with clarity, energy, and an example I want others to follow. I curate what I share so it’s useful and empowering—not performative. That means the public Serenity is real, but she’s also the version of me that’s ready to teach, protect boundaries, and create transformation. Behind the scenes I’m still learning, resting, and doing the inner work that keeps everything sustainable.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
If I retired tomorrow, my customers would miss the way I hold them accountable while still pouring into them with love and encouragement. They’d miss having someone who not only gives them strategy and structure but also helps them believe in themselves when fear, doubt, or inconsistency tries to creep in.

What makes me different is that I don’t just teach branding or business—I walk with my clients through the process, helping them stay consistent, disciplined, and focused. My clients would miss my energy, my ability to see the bigger picture for their lives and careers, and the way I push them to go after opportunities they might not have believed they were ready for.

At the end of the day, they would miss having someone in their corner who genuinely cares about their growth—not just their business growth, but their personal and spiritual alignment too.
