Hi Nastassia , thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
There are a lot of projects I have been currently working on these past couple of years behind the scenes that are in the making and will be announced later in the fall and the beginning of 2026!!! So here’s a sneak peek, one in particular is “Nastassia’s Crib Couture”, it’s been apart of me since 2017. I am an Interior Decorator that LOVES to be creative. What I do is something you normally don’t see most home decor entrepreneurs doing these days, my business adds an extra touch (which I like to call my own signature in someway lol) with using “decals”. I love being an artist and creating beauty in everything I do, especially when it comes to expressing myself in any way I can. Last year I got recognized for my creativity in an article for “Shoutout HTX” which ment I was making my mark amongst the community in someway. What made me stronger in my creativity and having a better mindset and understanding on how to run a business the way I needed to was when I worked in Houston Galleria for 5 years for a company called “Pressed” (2 years of that time was me being a store manager) for a celebrity who was a fashionista herself in the industry that was also stationed in Atlanta. It allowed me the freedom of expression to dress customers with my fashion sense and to make them feel good about themselves, to use my vision to elevate the clothing in the store to give off different ways of how you can wear fashion. That’s why I became a model as well, I love fashion! I started out doing retail at a young age, it was a calling that found me. I was 21 when a woman spotted me out at a clothing store in the mall when I was just looking at shoes and gave me a job on the spot because she liked the way I dressed and how I interacted with people, and well the rest is history. A couple a years later a gentleman spotted me out looking for models in my hometown (Temple,Tx) and said there was something different about me and wanted me to work for him on a couple of projects. Fast forward I started doing photoshoots for fun and was getting really good at it with my creativity and wanted to do more, yet here I am thinking modeling was just another hobby or passion of mine not knowing it was going to change my life right to this day! I have been recognized amongst the community in several ways and I have had great opportunities and success come my way that I did not know I was destined to have, I am so grateful for GOD for allowing me to do everything I set my mind out to do and relish in the possibilities I had coming my way. I have been featured in and on the cover for online magazines, had my very own billboard feature during NYFW in February 2025 with Blaze Magazine in New York City, walked in LAFW, came back as a VIP model to walk for a “Project Runway” designer for NYFW, and now I am one of the new faces representing for my runway family “Houston Runway”. I can’t wait to show everyone what we have coming up for the future that is going to take my career to a whole new level!!! We are currently working on a project now that will be in development this fall and I am completely elated because it is something new I am trying out that is out of my comfort zone but is also strengthening me for greatness (pressure makes diamonds). I love the fact that I am making waves in the community and continuing to build parts of myself and showcase the new talents I have, this small town girl is going places.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Nastassia Marshall and I am currently a Model, inspiring to be a Flight Attendant, a Dancer, and I am also an Interior Decorator and have a business called “Nastassia’s Crib Couture”. What makes my gifts and talents stand out is all in the creativity I put in them, my business has a signature touch of mine using decals and bringing your home *In Living Color* literally lol. I was born and raised in Temple,Tx and then transitioned to Houston,Tx in 2013 to make a name for myself. I am an entrepreneur in the making currently working on a lot of projects as well as behind the scenes that I cannot wait to showcase to the world. What makes me stand out from the rest is my confidence, mindset, hustle, drive, passion, and vision. I want my story to inspire other individuals to believe in themselves, grow, overcome obstacles, and anything life throws at you to reach your goals no matter how far away they may be for the moment or what age you are.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
To be honest my friends, family, mentors and acquaintances saw my potential whether it was through dancing, modeling, my energy, or my creativity. All my life people always said they seen potential in me to become something great, something extraordinary. Even in school people would say “Your going to be a star someday lol.” Back then I was still growing, learning, processing and was trying to find myself and went through ups and downs just to see myself the way GOD does not knowing what or who I was becoming or suppose to be at that exact moment. GOD is the one who ordained me to be this great individual just like the rest of us but we have to go through some hard lessons first and level up to get to that promise land. Now that I look back, I have DEFINITELY become the woman I was meant to be all along and still going strong, this is only the beginning.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell my younger self “I’m super proud of you, we got this girl!” Don’t let nothing or anyone stop you from your drive or hustle and tell you that you won’t be the greatest version of yourself or make you feel less than worthy. There will be some ups and downs but don’t get discouraged for too long, this is all apart of the process and the triumph at the end will be well worth it all. You are going through your “Metamorphosis” stage and will eventually transition into that beautiful butterfly that you were ment to be all along. You are worthy of all the love and wins your heart desires for yourself and only GOD’S opinion is the only one that matters because he created you to be extraordinary to do wonderful things. He knows how your story will play out and who you will become in the end, you just have to believe in it as well. You have people who supports and loves you and you will definitely go further than you ever imagined, I promise you that. Keep perfecting your craft and take those risks. You are strong, smart, ambitious, talented, beautiful, confident, and capable of anything you put your mind to no matter what this world throws at you, you were born a star. “Knowing who you are ends the need to prove it.”
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
What I’m committed to is my business and making sure it reaches its fullest potential for success “Nastassia’s Crib Couture.” Running a business takes time, devotion, sweat, and dedication ( it’s never an overnight thing ) especially when you want to make sure it reaches the masses. Never put something out until you are fully ready and all of your affairs are in order so your business can succeed. You have to make sure you bring it to life the right way and have the right team in place, people who understand and get your mission and the purpose of your vision because that’s very important. As the saying goes “Time is money”, I’ve been working on the idea itself since 2017 and I wanted to be more artistic in my craft. When the pandemic happened in 2020, that’s when I started pursuing it more. I also specialize in doing vases, party set ups, etc. because i wanted to offer more and be versatile in what i do. I hired someone to market and advertise me, hired a web/logo designer that understood the assignment and how I wanted to display my vision because that’s very important. I used my home as a display and asked family to let me use their rooms as displays of my different work, and just like that people were wanting to hire me for different things because of what I can do. Even with me juggling everything else I’m still finishing what I started because giving up isn’t an option for me and GOD gave me that vision for a reason. Sometimes you have to invest in yourself before someone else does, if you can trust in the process no matter how long it takes and believe in your craft, someone else will too. “My job is to create and make you feel at home.”
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I want people to feel my impact on the world, and not only just that, how I treated them, how my energy made them feel to be around me. Did I show love, grace, integrity, honesty, and did they feel my genuine authenticity towards them. Did I truly make a difference in their lives while I was here. I want to leave a lasting imprint that either helped someone in a certain situation, gave them hope, clarity, or changed their life in another way that gave them something to believe in and look forward to. I don’t like negative energy, I generate off of peace, love, hard-work, family, loyalty, justice and dedication. I want my resilience to show through my actions not just my words. I want to make sure I leave something behind knowing my family is taken care of and don’t have to worry about anything. I want to be an inspiration to today’s youth and give the proper guidance and hope to show them a way for them to believe anything is possible and how to carry yourself as an individual in a world full of plastics and not enough originals, just simply be yourself.
