Life & Work with Aliza Bracewell of Houston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aliza Bracewell.

Hi Aliza, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
If you would’ve asked me a year ago, I would’ve said I got to where I was at right now off of a whim. As I look back today after working hard for as long as I have, which in total has really only been one year. I’d say I got to where I’m at right now from always seeing the vision. I started making music because I’ve always had a love for music, but what made me take that step was doing it cause it might be fun. Everything I do comes from love and just being able to show people how my brain works in ways that I don’t have to say too much. for example my outfits , looks that I do with my hair and just my music.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I would say it’s always been a smooth road because of my optimism, but if I was being honest, it wasn’t always easy because I needed to grow in confidence. I had to learn how to take myself serious. I’ve always seen myself as a fun entity but I noticed I was using the ability to say that I do something for fun, as a way to hide that it’s something I take serious. Now I’d say that it shows and because I’m proud of myself. It feels like a smooth road.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in music But when I was in Ohio, I used to model, style people, and creative direct. What I am most proud of is the consistency I’ve been able to have this year. I honestly feel like my individuality sets me apart from others, but for the most part, the fact that I am always myself due to this being fun for me is what sets me apart. This is not a act for me.

How do you think about happiness?
What makes me happy is trying new things and allow myself to interpret myself in any way I please. Sometimes I don’t feel like making music so I crochet myself a hat. There are times I just wanna do paintings and just see the world in a different way.
