Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyler Campise.
Hi Tyler, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Tyler Campise, and I’m the owner of Takes by Ty, a wedding and event content creation business I started about seven months ago. When I launched it, I wasn’t sure where it would lead, but it’s become something I truly love.
For as long as I can remember, I said I was going to be a nurse. I pursued that dream all through high school and college, earning my bachelor’s from The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in 2018. I began in postpartum but quickly found my heart was with babies, so I moved to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). For six years across three major NICUs, I poured myself into that role. I loved supporting parents and caring for each baby as if they were my own.
But with the miracles came heartbreak. I witnessed more loss than I could carry home, and after the sudden passing of a patient I’d cared for nearly ten months, I knew my heart couldn’t take much more. Around that same time, my fiancé and I moved back to Texas to be closer to family and plan our wedding. I tried continuing my career in the Texas Medical Center, but the intensity there left me anxious, exhausted, and struggling with my mental health.
Eventually, I quit without a plan. I thought my experience would open doors quickly, but weeks of unanswered applications proved otherwise. Jokingly, I always said I’d just become a barista, and I even started applying to coffee shops. During that difficult season, my best friend Carlee encouraged me to think bigger. Knowing my love for social media, creativity, and storytelling, we tossed around ideas until it clicked… wedding content creation. It was fresh, growing, and Houston’s market wasn’t yet saturated.
That spark grew into Takes by Ty. With help from my cousin Hannah, a wedding coordinator, I worked my very first wedding and felt like I’d found my place again. Around the same time, I landed an interview at my dream coffee shop. Suddenly, everything that had felt uncertain started falling into place, exactly the way it was meant to.
Since then, I’ve had the chance to work multiple weddings and create content for birthday parties and baby showers. I’ve also started collaborating with a photo booth rental company and a local bridal boutique, which has opened the door to so many new connections. In just six months, I’ve built friendships in the wedding industry and discovered a kind of joy I never expected. It’s been a whirlwind, and I can’t wait to see where Takes by Ty goes next.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road to Takes by Ty was not an easy one. I worked my whole life to become a nurse, and worked even harder to excel in my specialty. I felt like I was giving up, and that I was disappointing my husband and family by leaving nursing. The reality was they just wanted me to be happy.
When I finally let go of that guilt, I faced another hurdle: silence from every job I applied to. It was discouraging, but in the end, that season fueled me. It pushed me to pour everything I had into building Takes by Ty into something bigger than I ever imagined.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
When I started in this space, I knew right away that I wanted to focus on weddings. They’re the happiest day of peoples lives, and I wanted to be a part of something positive like that. I use my iPhone to capture the day as it unfolds, creating short-form videos that highlight both the big moments and the ones in between. Along the way, events like birthday parties and baby showers also gave me the chance to grow my business and connect with more people.
My husband and I got married in December 2024, before I even knew what a wedding content creator was. Looking back, I wish I had hired one because we don’t have any video of our ceremony or those little in-between memories. That experience fuels me now, and it’s why I put so much intention into capturing the details others might overlook.
I’m proud of every video I deliver, because I know they become more than clips, they’re memories to relive forever. Seeing the gratitude from my clients is the best reminder of why I love what I do.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I would refer to myself as spiritual over religious, and I found that Eckhart Tolle and his teachings are what resonate with me the most. His words remind me to slow down, be present, and not get lost in the noise of everyday life. It’s helped me approach challenges with more peace, gratitude, and I try to carry that energy into the way I live and create.
