Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebecca Burley.
Rebecca, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
How many kids want to be marketers when they grow up? Not that many, I imagine, but I did.
Content marketing is what I always wanted to do with my life. And, I wanted to help people.
Working two (sometimes three) jobs to put myself through college and graduate school, I never let anything keep me down. In my early career I learned about the true value of altruistic, genuine, holistic business practices.
My love of content continued to grow, and evolved as my professional interests changed.
Then, it happened.
When I returned to work from maternity leave in 2022, my job had been eliminated and I had to decide what I wanted to do.
Should I find another 9-5? Or take this as an opportunity to work the way I’ve always wanted to work.
I opened Purple Page Marketing in 2023 so I could dedicate my knowledge to helping small businesses, solopreneurs, and startups get the guidance and deliverables they needed to make their dreams come true.
It’s been a challenging two years, but well worth it. Every client gets the best I can offer them, or a referral to another provider on whom I would stake my own reputation.
My business sets a standard among marketing professionals in Houston of professionalism, understanding, and flexibility.
Specializing in B2B Marketing Strategy, specifically for LinkedIn, Purple Page Marketing is my way of helping businesses set a strong foundation for success.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s not easy being an entrepreneur. Everything is your decision, but everything is also your responsibility. Having to learn to think like a company while operating as a one-person-show was extremely challenging. It helped when my loving family encouraged me to delegate tasks to an assistant, and focus on the strategic direction of the business. It was tough to do, but looking back it was the right decision. Worth every penny.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Solopreneurs, startups, and small businesses need someone who understands what they are going through as they get started on their paths to growth. Purple Page Marketing’s clients understand that marketing is important, but their priority is clear: getting business and building revenue. We select the most cost-effective ways to bring their message to potential customers and get business. Once they’ve got some breathing room in their budgets, we carry out a longer-term strategy that will keep the good things coming.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Always do what’s best for the client. Always. Even if it means selling fewer services or sending them to another provider. When everyone was telling me to just say yes to whatever the client wants and figure it out later, I cringed. My clients deserve better. Since opening the business, I learned that not everyone will agree with my practice of finding ways to cut costs for my clients. But that’s ok, they can ask my clients how they feel about it.
