Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Jojo Trumbly of North Houston

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Jojo Trumbly. Check out our conversation below.

Jojo, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
I think one thing that’s often misunderstood about The NET Level Up Networking is that people assume it’s just another networking group where you show up, pass business cards, and leave. That’s not who we are. We’re a community built on professional relationships, accountability, and giving back. Our focus is on actually supporting one another, sharing resources, and creating opportunities that help businesses and nonprofits grow. It’s not transactional, it’s transformational.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Jojo Trumbly and I’m the CEO and founder of The NET Level Up Networking. I built The NET because I wanted to change how people experience networking. Too often, traditional networking is all about what you can get. The NET is about what we can give. Our culture is centered on three pillars: building, growing, and serving. We help our members build strong relationships, grow their businesses through collaboration, and serve the community by supporting local nonprofits in meaningful ways. What makes us unique is that it’s not just business, it’s personal growth, leadership development, and real community impact all rolled into one. Over the years, I’ve watched members form lifelong friendships, land life-changing opportunities, and rally together to raise thousands of dollars for local causes. That’s the heartbeat of The NET, and what we’re working on now is expansion. We’re opening new teams in different cities so that even more entrepreneurs and nonprofits can experience the power of leveling up together.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory of feeling powerful was when I was on stage as the lead in my first big show, playing Anne Boleyn. It was the first time I truly felt the weight and honor of carrying an entire production. The cast relied on me, the audience’s attention was on me, and I realized the kind of presence and responsibility I held in that moment. It was both humbling and incredibly powerful.

When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder when I was 22, and for a long time I let it define me. I used it as an excuse instead of a tool. Over time, I realized I could shift that perspective. Now I see it as a superpower because it gives me a deeper understanding of myself and what I’m going through, but also shows me how to move through it. I share my story because I want others to see that even with mental illness, you can still persevere, show up, and do great things.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, the public version of me is definitely the real me, but it’s not the deepest layer of me. I’m very active online and I love sharing my life and stories, but there are certain things, especially when it comes to my family, that I hold close to my heart. What you see online is the same person you’ll meet in real life, it just depends on the timing, the setting, and honestly whether I’ve had a snack yet.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I want people to tell the story of a woman who lifted others higher. Someone who wasn’t afraid to stand in their corner, cheer them on, and remind them of what they were capable of. My hope is that my legacy is one of impact. That I inspired people to dream bigger, do more than they thought possible, and to carry that same spirit of encouragement forward in their own lives.
