Rising Stars: Meet Shannon Bell of West University

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shannon Bell.

Hi Shannon, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve been designing and creating jewelry for more than 27 years, but S. Bell Designs officially came to life in 2016. My love for accessories and creating started long before that-in the 90s, my first pieces were made with hemp, silver, and beads. Back then, I simply wanted jewelry I couldn’t find anywhere else: real, simple, minimalist designs that wouldn’t tarnish. When I couldn’t find what I wanted, I decided to make it myself.
It didn’t take long before friends and family started noticing-and asking if I could make pieces for them too. I was literally giving jewelry away right off my body! Before I knew it, I was creating hundreds of pieces, and people were excited to buy them. That’s how S. Bell Designs was born.
My vision has always been clear: to create a collection that feels approachable, unique, and wearable for women like me-hardworking, casual, and stylish. I believe jewelry doesn’t have to be fancy to be fabulous. The right piece can make you feel good, confident, and connected to your story.
Over the years, I’ve been grateful not only to grow my business but also to build lasting friendships with so many wonderful customers. Every design I make carries a story, and my favorite part is seeing the joy it brings when someone puts it on. My passion is to empower women to choose jewelry that feels meaningful to them-pieces they’ll look forward to wearing every day.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Building my first website for S. Bell Designs was pure blood, sweat, and tears! Now I leave that to the professionals so I can focus on creating jewelry that combines exceptional quality with a personal, thoughtful approach to every client.

At S. Bell Designs, I’ve navigated the challenges of running a business while balancing family and ever evolving technology!

I learned how to prioritize what matters most, and my children have grown up watching me pursue my passion with dedication.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Entrepreneur/Jewelry Designer

What sets S. Bell Designs apart is the intentionality I put into every piece. I create jewelry for/with real women: their pieces are simple, timeless, and meaningful, and designed to be worn every day instead of just on special occasions. The most common comment I hear from my clients is that they “never take it (their S. Bell jewelry) off!” That makes my heart happy!

With over 27 years of experience, I combine craftsmanship, creativity, and an understanding of what women truly want: jewelry that feels personal, approachable, and effortlessly stylish. I love remaking custom pieces that bring new life and joy to the women who can wear them every day. I want my clients to be excited to put on their new pieces. We all have plenty that sits in our jewelry boxes. Honestly, honing in on what excites each and every client is what I attribute the success of S. Bell Designs. to.

Beyond the designs themselves, S. Bell Designs is built on connection. Every piece has a story, and I love sharing in that story with my clients, helping them find pieces that resonate with their own lives. From selecting materials that are beautiful and durable, to creating designs that reflect individuality, my goal is to make jewelry that empowers women to feel confident, beautiful, and inspired every day.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
