Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcus Jones.

Marcus Jones

Hi Marcus, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Well in 2014 I started working for this private company that allowed me to travel across the world. Around 2016 I got injured and had was out of work for 3 months. I was also losing the passion I once had while traveling. At the time I was averaging 10 countries a year and circled the world a couple times. While on my injury break I realized I need to do something that becomes more meaningful. So I YouTubed how to become a travel influencer. With a new passion and drive I went back to work with a goal in mind. To help people see the world through my eyes. I get the most joy out of seeing new places meet in new people and viewing thing s from their eyes. A few years later I have been featured in magazines like essence a few times and major travel blogs like @Travelandleisure and Delta airlines for black history month in Feb. 2020. I was fortunate to be apart of a travel group to travel to Togo where we won award for best promotion of a country. Around that time I was going into my peak and gaining a lot of followers. I met someone around that time as well and took a major break from social media to focus on my relationship, also covid slowed me down from traveling as well. After covid ended I needed to find something meaningful once again. That’s where I came up with my travel company along side my business partner Drake. We Are Globetrotters! And we have been hosting trip for 3 years now taking like minded individuals around the world with us to see the world as we do!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As far as the trips majority of the time things go smoothly, but in reality we’re dealing with 10-25 personalities at a time and you want to make sure you provide something on the trip that everyone can see as a highlight. It’s definitely been a learning curve where the struggles can come from our local dmc community ho helps us with having a local guide and logistics while in their country. Sometimes they always want to take our guest to tourist traps for spending money. Which they still enjoy, I just prefer they spend their money more locally that goes towards maybe a more local shop in need.

As you know, we’re big fans of We Are Globetrotters, LLC.. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We Are Globetrotters, LLC is a dynamic travel company I founded alongside my business partner, Drake Hill. We design curated group trips across the globe taking travelers to destinations like Thailand, Greece, Costa Rica, Brazil, Japan, India, and more.

What makes us different is how deeply we immerse our guests into the culture. We don’t just show you a country, we make you feel like part of it. From cooking classes and local traditions to authentic dining and experiences, our guests connect with destinations in a way that earns the respect of locals and creates lasting memories. While international flights aren’t included, once guests arrive, every detail is handled from accommodations and group transportation to meals, private dinners, excursions, and cultural activities.

Our motto, “Let us plan it, and show you the planet!” reflects our mission to take the stress out of planning while building a community of explorers. Many of our travelers return again and again because they know they’ll get more than just a trip, they’ll get an unforgettable, immersive experience that feels both seamless and personal.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
We are always open to meaningful collaborations and partnerships. One of the best ways to work with us is through influencer partnerships where influencers can host their own group trips under the We Are Globetrotters brand. We take care of the planning, logistics, and execution so they can focus on bringing their community and creating unforgettable shared experiences. This not only gives influencers a unique way to engage with their audience, but also allows them to expand their brand through travel.

People can also support us by spreading the word about our trips, sharing their personal experiences, and connecting us with others who value curated, cultural, and immersive travel. Word of mouth has been one of the biggest drivers of our growth, and every referral helps us continue building our global travel community.
