Meet Canaan King of COLLETTIVA PR.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Canaan King.

Hi Canaan, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started my journey in Digital PR as a volunteer in a church ministry in Nairobi, Kenya, where I discovered the power of storytelling and digital engagement. After relocating to the U.S. as a permanent resident, I pursued a degree in Organizational Leadership with a minor in Digital Communication at Oral Roberts University. In 2020, I took a leap of faith and launched my own Digital PR firm. Since then, I’ve been helping brands craft meaningful narratives, build authentic connections, and thrive in the digital space. It’s been an incredible journey of growth, purpose, and impact.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When I relocated to the U.S. as a permanent resident, I knew I was stepping into a new world—full of opportunity, but also uncertainty.

Adjusting to a new culture, navigating unfamiliar systems, and building a professional network from scratch wasn’t easy. Like many immigrants, I faced moments of isolation, financial strain, and the constant pressure to prove myself in spaces where I was often the only one who looked or sounded like me. Even simple things—like understanding business regulations, accessing startup capital, or finding mentors—felt like uphill battles.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Collettiva PR is more than just a public relations firm—it’s a movement built on collaboration, creativity, and community. The name “Collettiva” comes from the Italian phrase that evokes a group-driven enterprise rooted in shared creativity, inclusivity, and collective impact. That meaning is at the heart of everything we do. We’re a modern, progressive brand that believes powerful storytelling is born from diverse voices working together toward a common purpose.

Founded in 2020, Collettiva PR specializes in digital public relations, brand strategy, and media engagement. We help mission-driven brands, entrepreneurs, and organizations amplify their voice, build authentic connections, and navigate the ever-evolving digital landscape. Whether it’s launching a new product, managing reputation, or crafting a compelling brand narrative, we bring a strategic and human-centered approach to every project.

What sets us apart is our commitment to purpose-driven storytelling. We don’t just chase headlines—we build movements. Our campaigns are designed to spark conversation, drive engagement, and leave a lasting impact. We’re known for blending creativity with strategy, and for being deeply invested in the success of our clients.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of how Collettiva PR has become a trusted partner for emerging voices and underrepresented communities. We’ve carved out a space where innovation meets inclusion, and where every story—no matter how big or small—is treated with care and intention.

For readers who are discovering us for the first time: Collettiva PR offers media relations, brand development, digital strategy, influencer outreach, and thought leadership positioning. But more than services, we offer partnership. We’re here to help you tell your story in a way that resonates, connects, and drives change.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned along my journey is that resilience isn’t just a trait—it’s a mindset. Starting over in a new country, building a business from scratch, and navigating unfamiliar systems as an immigrant taught me that setbacks are inevitable, but they don’t define you. What matters is how you respond.

There were moments of doubt, financial strain, and cultural adjustment that tested my confidence and clarity of thought. But through it all, I learned to lean into discomfort, ask for help, and stay anchored in purpose. Every challenge became a classroom, and every win—no matter how small—was a reminder that growth often comes from the hardest places.

That lesson continues to shape how I lead, how I serve my clients, and how I show up in the world.
