Today we’d like to introduce you to Kevin Hackett.
Hi Kevin, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Sustained Growth Solutions officially launched in early 2021, but the story really started a few years before that. Back in 2018, I started a podcast called The Homeowners Show. My co-host and I wanted to help homeowners make better decisions about caring for their homes — and avoid getting taken advantage of by bad service providers.
As part of the show, I interviewed contractors and home service professionals every week. Over time, I noticed a pattern. These were good, hardworking people who cared deeply about their craft, but most of them struggled to find consistent customers. Marketing wasn’t their strong suit — they were busy actually doing the work.
That’s what sparked the idea for Sustained Growth Solutions. I realized I could help them grow by doing what I do best — building systems that bring in the right kind of leads and let them focus on running their business.
When I first started, I focused on lead generation — helping business owners find warm, high-quality leads. But it didn’t take long for me to see that the real foundation for growth starts with a strong website. If your website doesn’t rank on Google, your customers can’t find you. It’s that simple.
So we shifted gears and started building beautiful, high-performing websites that actually get results. Each site is strategically designed and optimized to help businesses show up in search, generate leads, and grow consistently.
Today, Sustained Growth Solutions helps contractors, remodelers, and other small businesses build an online presence that actually works. Alongside that, I also coach business owners through growth strategies — helping them take their business to the next level and build something sustainable for their families and teams.
At the end of the day, my goal is pretty simple: I want to see business owners thrive. When a business grows, it impacts more than just the owner — it supports families, creates jobs, and strengthens communities. That’s what motivates me every day.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not a smooth road — but I’ve learned that growth rarely happens when things are easy.
When I started Sustained Growth Solutions, I didn’t actually know how to build a website. I knew what I wanted to do — help business owners get found online — but I had to learn the how from scratch. That meant long nights studying design principles, SEO, structure, and user experience. I didn’t just want to build websites that looked nice — I wanted them to work. I wanted business owners to actually see results. Learning how to merge beauty with performance took time, patience, and a lot of trial and error.
Another big challenge was finding balance. I’m a full-time youth minister, and I’ve been doing ministry for over 20 years. I’m also a husband, a dad, and a podcast host. So figuring out how to juggle ministry, business, family, and the podcast — all while trying to grow something from the ground up — was tough. I had to learn how to manage my time intentionally and build systems that kept things moving even when I couldn’t be everywhere at once. For a recovering procrastinator, that was a hard but valuable lesson.
There was also the challenge of growth itself. At first, I tried to do everything myself — from sales to design to SEO to client communication. But eventually, I realized I couldn’t keep scaling without help. Hiring the right people was a huge learning curve. It’s not just about finding people who can do the work — it’s about finding people who care about the mission, who take ownership, and who serve clients the right way.
One of the best decisions I made was investing in business coaching. Those mentors helped me sharpen my systems, processes, and leadership skills. Ironically, that experience also opened a new door for me — I started coaching other business owners. My background in ministry and counseling gave me a natural skill for asking the right questions and helping people uncover what’s holding them back. That combination of faith, business, and strategy has shaped who I am and how I serve today.
It definitely hasn’t been easy, but every challenge pushed me to get better. Looking back, I wouldn’t trade those seasons of stretching for anything.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Sustained Growth Solutions?
Sustained Growth Solutions was built with one mission — to help small business owners build, rank, and thrive.
We specialize in designing and developing high-quality WordPress websites that are built to perform on Google. Our focus is on contractors, remodelers, and home service professionals — the kind of people who are amazing at what they do but don’t always have the time or expertise to manage their digital marketing.
We don’t just build pretty websites. We build websites that work. Every project is designed strategically — from site structure and content layout to speed, SEO, and conversion flow — so our clients get a site that not only looks great but actually generates leads and supports long-term growth.
What really sets us apart is our approach. We believe marketing should be transparent, relationship-driven, and sustainable. A lot of business owners have been burned by “quick fix” marketing agencies that overpromise and underdeliver. At Sustained Growth Solutions, we take the opposite approach — we build strategies that are meant to last. Our goal is to make sure every client understands how their website fits into their overall growth plan and sees measurable progress month after month.
Over time, we’ve grown from a simple website company into a full digital growth partner. We now provide ongoing SEO, reporting dashboards, and coaching to help business owners understand their data and make smarter decisions. We even show clients how to leverage tax credits that can help them save thousands when investing in a new website — something most agencies never talk about.
Brand-wise, I’m proud that Sustained Growth Solutions has earned a reputation for integrity and results. We’re not a huge agency, and I like it that way — it means we can stay personal, responsive, and deeply invested in our clients’ success.
At the end of the day, we help business owners stop worrying about their marketing and get back to doing what they love. Because when their business grows, their families, teams, and communities grow too — and that’s what we’re all about.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
I have so many great childhood memories that it’s hard to pick just one. I grew up with a great family — a loving mom and dad, an older brother, and a younger sister. Some of my favorite memories were the vacations we took together, especially our trips to Disneyland and Disney World.
Those trips were magical for me. I loved how Disney could completely transport you into another world — every sound, smell, and detail told a story. It wasn’t just a theme park; it was an experience that sparked my imagination and creativity. I could be the life of the party, laugh, explore, and just be a kid.
Even now, that love for Disney has stuck with me. I still love visiting the parks, learning about how they’re built, and studying the storytelling behind them. In a way, that same creative energy influences what I do today — helping businesses tell their story through their brand and website. There’s something powerful about combining creativity with structure to make people feel something — and I think that spark started back in those early Disney trips.
