Today we’d like to introduce you to Joe Soliz.
Hi Joe, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
This year I will have 50 years in my martial arts journey. I started when was 15 years old and studied in taekwondo and shitoryu arts received black belts in both arts , I was also full instructor in jkd/kali , and received my Brazilian jujitsu black belt after 16 years, also completing and coaching boxing 50 years. Along with my son Jason , and my wife Patricia we took our teaching from the garage of our home to opening our own school in Sugarland/stafford area which will have 15 years in community as Tx3rdcoastmma .
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Operating a Martial arts school may look easy. You will face many new challenges , like just trying to operate as business learning the financial side and marketing. Creating curriculum is easy Managing Personality’s is another skill set that needs be developed with continuous growth. The pandemic was the most challenging as many businesses we to were challenged to remain open or close ! Our students help us remain open during these months as they continue to support us by paying so we could pay rent even with no class being taught . When they did this we as Soliz family decided we come back even stronger and try to see this through. Today we are stronger than ever !

Tx3rdcoastmma is family owned business.We believe in strong family values and are committed to be part of community by helping others health and mental wellness..Our youth programs are designed to develop physical attributes, but more importantly how to become a good person learning the 7 virtues and practicing them in class so there performed outside of class. Tx3rdcoastmma offers Self Defense, Boxing, Brazilian jujitsu , MMA Class , Yoga ,Kids mma, kids jujitsu. Our most popular Class is Brazilian Jujitsu, all of classes bring unique comaradie , Tx3rdcoastmma is home where you leave everything outside, and no one judges you on life status, everyone just wants a good training partner .
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
So many different places and different kinds of food to choose from. People are friendly. Morning traffic is tough one .
