Meet Lisa Hull of Spring

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Hull.

Hi Lisa, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Our love for the paranormal started with ghost tours in the shadowy streets of Chicago, where we explored haunted landmarks and soaked in spooky stories. In 2018, we moved to Houston and celebrated Valentine’s Day with a ghost dinner and tour in Old Town Spring. That night sparked something deeper—a fascination with the town’s haunted history and unique charm.
From there, things took a ghostly turn. What began as attending tours turned into guiding them, and by 2023, we launched our very own paranormal business in Old Town Spring.
We offer immersive ghost hunts, where guests get hands-on experience using real paranormal equipment—just like you see on TV. We also created the wildly popular Boo’s & Brews Haunted Pub Crawl, combining chilling ghost stories with spirited stops at some of the town’s most haunted bars.
In 2024, we took our biggest leap yet: opening a retail shop in Old Town Spring for lovers of all things spooky and strange. Inside, you’ll find Halloween vibes all year long—gothic and alternative accessories, moody home decor, oddities, and professional paranormal gear.
We’ve also added a new experience: the Haunted History Tour, which dives deep into the eerie legends and rich past of this historic town.
Whether you’re a seasoned ghost hunter or just curious about the unknown, our mission is to give you a hauntingly good time—one spooky story at a time.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothing is ever smooth. We looked at over 10 different shops before we found the one that we are in. We have had issues getting product, shipping tariffs. We have had friendship fallouts, employee issues and road construction. But we would do it again in a heartbeat. This business is much easier that when we owned a sports bar in Chicago.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We not only own the shop, but we both have full time day jobs. I am an accountant and my husband is a mechanic. We love Old Town Spring it gives us the flexibility to be open when we want and to sell what we want. Our store esthetic works perfectly with this town. We have haunted dolls in the store to help with the spooky factor.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Do what you love and don’t let others influence you. Go with your gut, sometimes you need to be a risk taker. Make sure you do your research.
