Today we’d like to introduce you to David Moore.
Hi David, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I grew up without many positive male role models. My father was mostly absent, and the men around me were caught in the streets. For a while, I followed that path until I realized my pain had a purpose.
That awakening led to my book The ERA Is Now, Engage•Rearrange•Attain, a framework for transformation rooted in my own journey from survival to leadership. It also inspired the creation of the LAD Foundation, which equips young men to lead themselves, their families, and their communities with purpose and accountability.
My story is proof that your past doesn’t define you. It prepares you.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it hasn’t been smooth. I faced poverty, fatherlessness, anger, poor decisions, loss, and starting over more than once. Each challenge shaped my perspective and my purpose.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I help people and communities transform through leadership, purpose, and accountability. I’m the author of The ERA Is Now and the founder of the LAD Foundation, where we mentor and equip young men to become leaders in their homes, schools, and communities. I also lead community engagement and business development initiatives at Lithia Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, and I run Moore Strategy Group, a consulting firm that helps small businesses grow through marketing, automation, and strategy. I’m most proud of creating programs that don’t just talk about change but actually produce it. What sets me apart is authenticity—I’ve lived what I teach.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
What I like best about our city is the sense of community and opportunity. There’s a strong mix of people who care about growth, family, and legacy. You can feel the potential here. What I like least is the lack of consistent investment in youth programs and mentorship. There’s so much untapped talent in our neighborhoods that just needs guidance and opportunity to thrive.
