Life & Work with Rob Greer of Houston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rob Greer.

Rob, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I entered this world with a camera in my hand. My first photos were an autobiographical, photojournalistic birth essay published in National Geographic. Not really.

My story as a professional photographer began in early 2004. As a nature photography enthusiast who loved photographing landscapes and flowers, I enjoyed fancy cameras. I discovered I could save money on my taxes by itemizing and claiming that expensive camera equipment.

With that singular goal in mind, I became a professional photographer. That later led me to work as a headshot photographer, portrait photographer, event photographer, commercial photographer, and product photographer.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The main struggle I face is balancing creative freshness with the technical and artistic excellence I’ve already established in the industry. I have a signature style that clients expect, but I still work on evolving artistically and professionally, even though that’s risky. It’s no longer about mastering my craft, but rather about staying inspired, relevant, and agile.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a Houston headshot photographer, event photographer, and product photographer. Specialties also include commercial photography, industrial photography, and editorial portraits.

I’m also a camera whisperer, best known for delivering fun, candid, and beautifully photographed stories that celebrate strong emotional connections. Through my photography, I’ll impress you with my maximum effort, unwavering commitment, and ambitious imagination.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
