Story & Lesson Highlights with Monica Snideman of Spring

We recently had the chance to connect with Monica Snideman and have shared our conversation below.

Monica, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
People often assume ziplining is just for kids — or on the flip side, that it’s only for hardcore thrill-seekers. The truth is, neither is accurate. Our course was actually designed with adults in mind. Kids as young as six can join in with adults, but it’s not a “kids’ park.” It’s an experience built for adults looking for something genuinely exciting and refreshingly different.

At the same time, it’s not an “extreme” adventure where you’re flying over canyons at 60 mph. Geronimo Adventure Park sits in that perfect sweet spot — thrilling, but approachable. Nervous first-timer? Totally fine. Our guides are pros at helping people push past fear and have an unforgettable experience. Seasoned adventurer? You’ll love the canopy tour’s unique setup, beautiful scenery, and the pure joy of flying through the forest canopy.

Geronimo is about feeling that spark of adventure, relishing the thrill, and making memories that last.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
We’re Monica Snideman and Charity Adams, co-founders of Geronimo Adventure Park. We created Geronimo to give people a chance to get outside, challenge themselves, and have fun in ways they might not have experienced before — whether it’s zipping through the treetops, throwing an axe with friends, climbing our rock wall, playing outdoor games, or taking part in a team-building event that really strengthens groups and brings people together. We wanted to bring more opportunities for outdoor adventure to Houston, a city that’s typically very indoor-oriented, and create a space where people can connect with nature, have fun, and make memories.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
Both of us learned invaluable lessons about work from our parents.

For me (Monica), it was my dad, an incredible example of entrepreneurship. Through his actions, he taught me that honesty and integrity in business are non-negotiable — that being “good” is not just the right thing to do, it’s also good business. Watching him operate with that level of authenticity shaped how I approach every decision in my work and life.

For me (Charity), it was my mother who left a lasting mark. She taught me to just get up and get to work, to keep moving forward no matter the challenge, and to see obstacles not as stop signs but as lessons. She taught me that there’s always a way to get where you want to go if you’re persistent, resourceful, and willing to find a path forward.

Together, our parents’ lessons — about integrity, perseverance, and determination — have guided how we built Geronimo Adventure Park and how we approach every adventure, challenge, and opportunity in our business.

Do you remember a time someone truly listened to you?
A time someone truly listened to us — and gave advice that changed everything — was early on when we decided to create an aerial adventure park. We were at a conference when we learned that another company had already built an aerial park very close to the area we had targeted and were planning on announcing and opening very soon. We won’t lie — we were devastated! Tears may have been involved. We had done research and hadn’t found anything like it in our area, and suddenly it felt like all our hard work and vision might be in jeopardy.

Then we had a conversation with Jennifer, who owns several adventure parks and runs an adventure park building company. She really listened to our concerns, understood our goals, and offered incredible advice: focus on ziplining and create something truly unique. Her guidance didn’t just reassure us — it gave us a new perspective and a clear direction.

That advice completely reshaped our vision. What had felt like a major setback became the catalyst for something better. We focused on differentiating ourselves, and Geronimo Adventure Park emerged as a one-of-a-kind experience that we love and are proud of. Looking back, that moment taught us the power of being heard and how sometimes the best opportunities come disguised as roadblocks.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes. Neither one of us is very good at pretense. We are friends. We believe in each other. We love adventure. We love to laugh, have fun, and connect with our guests. We love nature, our families, and doing the right thing. That’s it. What you see is what you get. 🙂

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If immortality were real, what would you build?
If immortality were real, we’d build places that give people moments of pure joy — the kind of spaces that make you forget the day-to-day and just feel alive. That’s what we’ve tried to create at Geronimo, and honestly, if we could make more of those experiences for people, it would be incredible. Places where you can laugh, connect with others, make memories that stick, and just take a deep breath and be present — that’s what really matters to us.
