Today we’d like to introduce you to Grecia Berrios.
Hi Grecia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was born in El Salvador, in a small town where life was simple but not easy. I grew up surrounded by scarcity and uncertainty I saw violence, and I saw children die from malnutrition. Those moments marked me forever. They made me compassionate, but also strong. They planted in me a fire to rise above and one day change the story for my family.
At 14, I became a mother. And at 15, I arrived in the United States with my baby in my arms, full of fear but also full of faith. During the day, I cleaned houses. At night, I went to high school and took care of my daughter. Every house I cleaned became a classroom it taught me discipline, excellence, and the value of gratitude. That work paid for my education and built the foundation for my dreams.
In an attempt to build a family with my daughter’s biological father, I lived through domestic violence. Leaving that relationship was painful but necessary. It was the moment I chose healing, dignity, and God’s plan over fear.
At 19, I started working in the mortgage industry and that’s where everything began to change. I fell in love with the idea of helping people achieve stability through real estate. Coming from deep financial challenges myself, I became passionate about learning how to create healthy finances, build wealth, and heal my relationship with money.
During that stage of rebuilding my life, I met the man who is now my husband my partner in life and in business. Together, we started with a small apartment flip, then several more, and soon after, our first new construction project. Working with buyers and sellers expanded our vision: we wanted to show families how to invest, how to dream bigger, and how to create a healthier relationship with their finances.
Since then, we’ve helped over 600 families achieve homeownership, and 186 of them have become investors. Real estate stopped being about selling homes — it became a vehicle for transformation, freedom, and purpose.
Today, I lead Grecia Berrios Group, recognized among the Top 28 Latina-led real estate firms in the nation. I’m also the author of “Despierta: Redescubre tu Grandeza,” and I’ve had the honor of speaking on stages that once felt far beyond my reach.
But success, for me, is not about numbers or recognition. It’s about giving thanks to God, and to the United States for every door that opened, for every lesson that shaped me, and for the grace that carried me here.
What I live today is far more than what I ever dreamed. And when I received a recognition from the U.S. Congress, it wasn’t just a moment of pride it was a reminder of how far God can take a willing heart.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. I carried many limiting beliefs and the post-trauma of everything I had lived through. For a long time, I felt like I didn’t truly belong anywhere not here, not there. I faced judgment for speaking out about domestic violence and for being the first woman in my family to say “no more.”
For generations my great-grandmother, my grandmother, my mother, and then me teenage pregnancy had been part of our story. But the chain ended with me. Today, my daughter, who is 22, is walking a completely different path. That alone makes every struggle worth it.
As I began to rebuild my life, I learned how to make money but I was terrified of losing it. Then I realized I didn’t know how to manage it, much less multiply it. I grew up believing things like “rich people are born rich” and “money is bad.” Healing my relationship with money became one of my greatest transformations. Once I stopped seeing money as something to fear, and instead as a tool to create freedom, impact, and legacy, everything changed.
As I healed, I learned to grow it and even more importantly, to share it. The blessings that once felt impossible have now become a way to bless others.
But perhaps the most profound lesson came after I had an accident that led to two spinal surgeries and left me unable to walk for almost a year. That season stripped away every illusion of control and taught me that true wealth goes far beyond the material. It’s found in faith, health, love, and purpose.
That year of stillness gave me clarity. It reminded me that when you align your heart, your faith, and your resources with purpose, abundance flows in ways far greater than you could ever plan.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Grecia Berrios Group ?
We are an Investment Real Estate firm based in Houston, recognized among the Top 28 Latina-led real estate firms in the nation. What sets us apart is that we don’t just focus on properties we focus on people, purpose, and education. Every family we serve becomes part of a movement to create financial stability, break generational cycles, and build lasting legacies.
We specialize in residential real estate, new construction, investment properties, and financial strategy consulting. My husband and I began with one vision: to teach families what we had to learn the hard way — how to own, grow, and multiply their assets. Since then, we’ve helped over 600 families achieve homeownership and 186 of them become investors.
Our brand also extends beyond real estate. Through my book “Despierta: Redescubre tu Grandeza” and the conferences and workshops I lead across the country, I empower individuals to heal, grow, and align their financial, personal, and spiritual lives. These gatherings are not just events — they are experiences designed to awaken purpose and inspire action.
What I’m most proud of is that our growth has never been just about numbers it’s about transformation. We measure success by the families now writing new stories for the next generation.
At the end of the day, real estate is the vehicle, faith is the foundation, and purpose is the destination. Every key we hand over represents not just a home but hope, freedom, and the beginning of a new legacy.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is legacy not just what I will leave behind, but what I’m building each day through love, faith, and intention.
My greatest motivation is my family. Everything I do every business decision, every conference, every book begins and ends with them. I want my children to understand that success is not defined by reaching a certain level or destination, but by living with purpose, integrity, and joy along the way.
Faith is the foundation of everything I am. It has carried me through pain, loss, and uncertainty, and it continues to remind me that every door that opens from building one of the top Latina-led firms in the nation to publishing “Despierta: Redescubre tu Grandeza” is part of a divine purpose.
What matters to me is living a fulfilled life. I don’t want to wait until I reach a certain goal, publish another book, or hit a milestone to feel complete. I want to live in fullness today in the laughter of my children, in the love I share with my husband, in the peace of serving others, and in the gratitude of simply being alive.
Because true wealth is not about what we achieve, but about who we become and how much light we can bring into the lives of others along the way.
