Today we’d like to introduce you to Mahmoud Irannezhad.
Hi Mahmoud, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I graduated in 2019 from a top tier dental school in San Antonio and I wasn’t sure for how long I wanted to practice dentistry. I was great with the technical skills, but did not have a true passion for it at the time. After my first position as an associate and learning the ropes of real world dentistry I started to realize the great impact I can have on people I came across. I gained the opportunity to take fear and pain away, to help regain confidence, and to help smile once again. I was able to travel to other countries and use my hands to provide health while also having compassion for those that I served. Now as the owner to Inspire Dentistry I have even greater ability to change the perception of dentistry and greater ability to affect change in my community. These experiences and fulfillment I get from being able to do what I do has helped create the passion I have when I wake up each day.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not always been a smooth road, but I think that’s where the beauty is: in the process. There is always a new challenge or obstacle to overcome when you have your own business and a ton of learning that comes with that. The biggest challenge/struggle has been finding talented and well-suited team members to represent my brand and the visions I have for the practice. As a business owner, you quickly realize that no team member will have the same hunger and fire you do, but occasionally you run into exceptional individuals who play key roles in helping you achieve your goals. However, I do my best to reciprocate these efforts by not only inspiring my team members to set goals and do their best, but by helping them reach those goals in whatever way I can.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Inspire Dentistry is a new startup general dentist practice in the Memorial/Spring Branch area of Houston, Texas. We set ourselves apart from other dentists by providing kind and compassionate care in a judgement-free zone. We pride ourselves on transparency and education of dental care to our patients, which we know is missed in a lot of dental offices. As far as services we provide, we perform a wide range of procedures from crowns, implants, veneers, Invisalign, wisdom teeth extractions, smile makeovers, and others listed on our website. My goal is always to meet and affect more patients so we often have new patient specials as listed in our ads or social media accounts. Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is the ability I now have to help patients the way I’ve envisioned as an owner versus an associate dentist. My freedom to make decisions in the moment on how to operate the business enable me towards continuing to build a positive experience for my patients and team. I’ve also learned that I must always continue to grow and be open-minded to change. Every day is a new opportunity to change an individual’s perception on dentists and dentistry and it is a challenge I look forward to daily!
