Daily Inspiration: Meet Aislyn Lee

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aislyn Lee.

Hi Aislyn, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
It all started when I had my daughter. I found myself wanting to freeze every little moment — big or small — because time was moving way too fast. I started setting up little holiday photos for her just for fun, and I had no idea that would be the start of something so special. My husband was actually the one who encouraged me to get a real camera and give photography a try. I was nervous and honestly didn’t think it would go anywhere — I figured after a couple of months I’d give up and delete the social media page I had just made. But the opposite happened. I fell in love with it.

What started with capturing my own daughter turned into capturing memories for other people too — moments they’ll get to hold onto forever. I found so much joy in telling stories through photos and connecting with people along the way. Over time, I’ve focused on not just growing as a photographer, but creating an experience that feels personal and meaningful for every person who steps in front of my camera. I take a lot of pride in both how I treat people and how I tell their stories — slowly, beautifully, and with heart.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’d say it’s been both smooth and not-so-smooth at times. Photography came pretty naturally to me, but I definitely struggled with imposter syndrome in the beginning. There are so many amazing photographers out there, and I found myself constantly comparing my work to theirs. It’s so easy to fall into that trap, but I’ve learned that comparison really is the thief of joy. I had to remind myself that the only person I should be competing with is the photographer I was yesterday.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Truly, I love capturing a little bit of everything, but my heart really leans toward families, couples, and maternity sessions — and I’ll always have a soft spot for weddings too. I’d describe my style as cinematic, film-inspired, and storytelling. I want my photos to feel like stills from a memory — full of emotion and connection.

It’s hard to pick just one thing I’m most proud of, but I’d say it’s the emotion in my work and the growth I’ve seen over the past two years. Watching my style evolve and seeing how my clients connect with their photos means so much to me.

What really sets me apart, though, is the way I make people feel — not just during their session, but when they see their photos for the first time. I want every person I photograph to feel seen, cared for, and celebrated. It’s more than just taking pictures — it’s about creating an experience that feels personal and meaningful.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
The best way to work with me is to reach out through my website or Instagram — that’s where I share recent work, session info, and updates. I love connecting with people who value storytelling and want their memories captured in a real and meaningful way.

For collaborations, I’m always open to creative ideas that align with my style — anything that celebrates love, life, or connection. And honestly, just sharing my work, tagging friends, or showing love on social media means the world. Every bit of support helps me keep doing what I love most.
