Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Ms. Eujon S. Hughes, M.Ed. Certified & Accredited Life Coach | Published Author | Community Advocate | Entrepreneur | Mother

It’s no surprise that I’m now a Certified Life Coach. Her journey to this career was both an evolution of her educational background and a profound calling from within. With years of experience in the field of education, a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, a Master’s degree in Counseling, a Teacher’s Certification in Special Education, and a hands-on approach as a counselor in Texas, I quickly realized that her passion and true purpose extended beyond traditional counseling. A graduate of the Udemy-Transformation Academy (Class of 2021) as an Accredited and Certified Life Coach, I continue to expand my leadership and coaching expertise to better serve her clients and community. It was here that the seeds of her Life Coaching career were planted.

Driven by a desire to make a greater impact, I took my expertise a step further by becoming business certified with the State of Texas, City of Houston & the Port of Houston as a Small Business Enterprise-SBE, Minority-Owned Enterprise-MBE, Women-Owned Enterprise-WBE and Historically Underrepresented Business-HUB certifications for contractual opportunities with independent school districts as well as state and local government entities.

I continue to enhance my leadership and coaching capabilities, equipping myself with the tools to my clients achieve lasting transformation and success. At my core, I’m always motivated by a deep-rooted faith, an unwavering commitment to my community, and an abiding love my daughter. These pillars of my life inspire me to guide others on their personal journeys toward success. Through Life Coaching, I empower individuals to overcome obstacles, push past limitations, and achieve their greatest aspirations.

Most recently… I was recognized as a 2025 Woman of Excellence Honoree by Black Billows Magazine this past Spring. In addition, was also recently honored by my graduate level collegiate alma mater, Sam Houston State University Alumni Association and the College of Business Administration, as one of the Top 58 Bearkats Excelling in Business for 2025 during the university’s prestigious Annual Sam Houston 79 Awards Program.

My own life story is a testament to resilience and perseverance. As a survivor of domestic violence, Hurricane Katrina and homelessness, she knows firsthand the power of strength, healing, and transformation. These experiences have shaped my understanding of what it takes to rebuild, recover, and rise stronger. My personal history, along with my professional expertise, positions me to be an insightful and compassionate coach who truly understands the human experience.

I’m also the founder and CEO of Bridging The Gap Life Coaching and Transformation Academy, LLC, where she offers coaching services designed to unlock the full potential in her clients. Whether through one-on-one coaching, group workshops, or community initiatives, she is dedicated to fostering an environment of growth, empowerment, and positive change. As a 6-time published author, she shares her wisdom and experiences with the world, further extending her influence and impact.

In addition to my coaching career, I’m also the owner of the Transformation Home Fragrance and Wellness Collection—an e-commerce business that brings wellness, serenity, and transformation into the homes of clients nationwide. I’m a former Special Education Teacher and Certified School Counselor, with a career dedicated to helping others navigate challenges and find success.

My non-profit organization was recently launched January 16, 2025…The Bridging for Change Foundation, Inc. which provides essential funding and support to survivors of domestic violence. With the support of my dynamic Board of Directors… helps develop safety plans and empower entrepreneurs to start businesses that can enhance the local economy. Additionally, we will offer scholarships for deserving HBCU students and provide resources for struggling single mothers, assisting them in achieving stability and independence to create brighter futures for themselves and their children.

My professional certification as an accredited Life Coach status, reflect my commitment to excellence and my genuine desire to see others succeed. As a Life Coach and Certified Counselor, I believe that anything is possible when ambition is paired with hard work, faith, and determination.

My mission is clear: To show others that they too can reach their full potential, overcome their past struggles, and step into a future filled with endless possibilities. I’m honored and humbled to be in a position to help make others’ dreams come true—one life-changing moment at a time.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road—but every challenge has shaped who I am today. My journey has been one of faith, resilience, and transformation. As a divorced single mother, educator, and entrepreneur, I’ve faced seasons of uncertainty, personal loss, and financial hardship while balancing motherhood, business, and my own healing. There were moments of exhaustion and doubt, but I refused to let those challenges define me.

One of my favorite questions that I live by is, “How do you turn life’s lemons into lemonade?” For me, it’s about choosing to grow through what you go through. Every obstacle became an opportunity to build character, strengthen my faith, and inspire others who felt stuck or overwhelmed.

Those experiences not only refined me but also prepared me to guide others through their own transformations. They taught me that struggle often births strength—and that even in life’s toughest seasons, we can find purpose, healing, and hope. The road hasn’t been smooth, but it has been meaningful—and I wouldn’t change a thing about the journey.

We’ve been impressed with Bridging The Gap Life Coaching and Transformation Academy, LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

In addition to life coaching, I am proud to have launched The Transformation Home Fragrance and Wellness Collection, an e-commerce brand dedicated to promoting serenity and self-care in the home. Each product in the collection is designed to create an atmosphere of peace, reflection, and renewal—because transformation starts with how we feel in our space.

Our foundation provides resources and funding to survivors of domestic violence, assists single mothers in achieving stability and independence, offers scholarships to HBCU students, and helps aspiring entrepreneurs bring their dreams to life. It’s about creating pathways to empowerment and sustainable change in our communities.

What I’m most proud of, brand-wise, is the authenticity and purpose that drive every facet of my work. Whether through coaching, my books, or community initiatives, my goal remains the same—to help others rise above adversity and discover that they are capable of more than they ever imagined. I truly believe that when ambition meets faith and determination, transformation is inevitable.

Being recognized as a 2025 Woman of Excellence Honoree by Black Billows Magazine and as one of Sam Houston State University’s Top 58 Bearkats Excelling in Business are honors that reflect not only my journey but also the impact of the work I’m called to do. At the end of the day, my brand is about hope, healing, and empowerment—and I’m humbled to guide others as they bridge the gap between where they are and where they are destined to be.
