Today we’d like to introduce you to Faraji Al-Moravids.
Hi Faraji, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started writing because I needed to make sense of what I was experiencing.
At first, it was just journaling—putting thoughts on paper to process emotions, faith, and identity. Over time, those notes turned into essays, then chapters.
I realized my experiences reflected broader patterns—especially around how Black men are perceived, shaped, and often silenced. That pushed me to write with purpose, not just expression.
Each project since then has built on that mission: to challenge narratives, reclaim truth, and create dialogue where silence used to be.
Writing became my way of documenting growth, questioning systems, and helping others see themselves with more clarity and power.
What started as self-reflection became storytelling with impact.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been smooth at all.
The hardest part was trusting my voice early on. I wondered whether anyone would care about what I had to say, especially when writing about topics people often avoid, such as race, masculinity, and emotion.
There were times I struggled with consistency, balancing work, life, and writing. Some days the words flowed; other days, doubt did.
Publishing was another challenge. Learning how to edit, market, and position a book without a big team forced me to become resourceful.
But each setback taught me something: discipline, patience, and how to create even when support isn’t guaranteed.
The struggle shaped the writer I’ve become. It built resilience and sharpened the message behind every page.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My work in IT operations focuses on building systems that keep organizations secure, efficient, and future-ready.
I specialize in infrastructure management, cybersecurity, and technology strategy. This includes overseeing networks, cloud environments, and enterprise systems that support the organization’s business goals.
I’m known for stabilizing complex environments, leading high-performing teams, and turning technical challenges into strategic advantages. I focus on aligning IT decisions with the organization’s mission, not just maintaining operational stability.
What I’m most proud of is leading through change, modernizing systems, improving uptime, and creating a culture where IT is seen as a business partner, not just a support function.
What sets me apart is my unique blend of technical expertise and leadership focus. I bridge the gap between people and technology, ensuring both move in sync. I don’t just manage systems, I build teams and processes that last.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
Besides God, A few people deserve credit for my journey.
Although my dad passed when I was young, he left me with two powerful gifts, conscious creativity and a thirst for knowledge. He taught me to think deeply, ask questions, and never accept surface answers.
My mom set the moral tone for who I became. Her discipline, faith, and consistency gave me a strong foundation. She modeled what integrity and resilience look like every day.
Along the way, I’ve also had mentors and colleagues who challenged me to grow, leaders who saw potential before I did, and teammates who believed in the vision when it was still forming.
Each of them played a role in shaping not just my success, but also the mindset behind it.
