Hi DeMesha , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
There was a moment when I had nothing but faith, and that’s when I decided to create the life I knew I deserved. I started my journey with just $427, a heavy heart and a relentless desire to change my life. November 2020 I walked away from the post office with just $427 to my name and a dream that felt bigger than me. I didn’t have a clear next move but I knew I couldn’t give up. I had been doing taxes for a few years, but I craved more. More Impact, More Freedom, More Purpose. In December 2020 I stepped out on faith and launched The Tax General with no real direction, just GRIND and a VISION. I pushed through uncertainty and managed to turn that $427 into five figures, then six. By 2022 and 2023, I had hit six figures. No mentor, No Nothing! Alongside The Tax General I launched The Tax-Preneur Academy. Then in 2023 TTG Pro Solutions was created, which is my software company. Although business wasn’t always easy or good I never gave up. I used the skill set that I mastered and helped dozens of people launch their tax company. Provided many tax professionals with industry leading software. I know this upcoming season is PERSONAL! This will be my 10th year in the industry. I’m stepping out of my comfort zone, betting on myself, walking fully in the calling placed on my life, but most importantly letting GOD LEAD ME!
If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it is to NEVER GIVE UP even when no one else understands your vision or journey. Always be obedient to his way and remember faith will do the unthinkable in your life
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
This definitely hasn’t been a smooth road but I don’t regret any of it. The biggest struggle that I faced was building a dedicated team. Also allowing others to come in and help. Understanding that in order to take my business further I had to be willing to give up some control. I still struggle with that today but I’ve gotten better.
