Today we’d like to introduce you to Crystal Barron.
Hi Crystal, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I always loved entertaining. Whether it was holidays or personal events. I would say I’m crafty and always had a knack for it. So, in about 2020 I knew about balloons but that’s when I started to experiment with them. Buying the amazon kits online and using them for work events. However, it wasn’t until 2022 that I started The Party Shack Shop. It started out as selling online party supplies I phased that out once I saw I had more of a passion to create art with balloons. I would book family and then friends. Soon after co-workers who would refer me.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There are slow seasons and some big and some where I am just learning from mistakes. The road is bumpy. That is for sure. Trying to grow a small business and work full time there are stretches at a time where I won’t even get a single inquiry or if I do it’s a dud, some struggles… whew where do I begin. Honestly, I feel with any new endeavor you experience many things. Many doubts and question if you even should be doing this. The biggest culprit is comparison. Like wow they have many followers… Oh and social media, yikes that’s another monster on its own.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I like being able to create or get inspired by something I see out in nature. Just sitting and staring about all the beauty God created. Can’t help but be in awe.
I do luxury balloon decor. That is mainly what the business is known for.
I can’t say that I pride myself on anything but the thing I will say is I like being able to create a good rapport with any anyone that I would like balloon services. I want to make sure I capture what they are looking for their special day. Whether it be colors or small personal touches such as flowers or maybe something personal they share about future husband or children. I want to create those personal touches for them.
What matters most to you? Why?
I would say my integrity. I’ve learned through past mistakes just be honest with people and I think they respect that. Whether I can do a certain thing or if I didn’t account for something I want to make it right. Many things can go wrong but I think in the end it’s what you do when people aren’t watching.
