Tobi Idowu shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Tobi , it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
What I’m most proud of building is a deeper, more intimate relationship with God. It’s a quiet, personal journey—one that happens in the unseen spaces of my everyday life. I’m becoming a better person by choosing patience over frustration, offering grace when it’s not always easy, and strengthening my faith in things I’m both working toward and believing for. It’s not something you can measure or post about, but it’s the most essential foundation I’ve ever laid.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
When I was first featured, I was hosting a radio show with Afrovibes Radio, which was such a fun and meaningful time in my life. It gave me a chance to connect with people, share stories, and really use my voice.
Since then, things have grown and shifted in an amazing way. I’m now a business owner — I started my own company called Bridging Behavior ABA, where we provide early intervention services for children diagnosed with Autism (ASD).
It’s something I’m incredibly passionate about, and I honestly believe it’s part of God’s purpose for my life. Being able to help His little creations grow, learn, and thrive is such a blessing. This work fills my heart, and I’m so excited for what’s ahead.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
Communication has the power to both break bonds and restore them. When it’s absent, careless, or rooted in assumptions, it can create distance and misunderstanding. But when it’s done with honesty, respect, and in a safe space—where both people are not only ready to express themselves but also open to truly listening—communication becomes a bridge. It restores connection, rebuilds trust, and reminds us that healing often begins with being heard and understood.Communication-
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, there were a couple of times when I almost gave up. Moments when everything felt too heavy, and I honestly didn’t see a way forward. But those were also the times that brought me to my knees — not in defeat, but in prayer. I found myself leaning harder into my faith, asking God for strength, clarity, and peace. And somehow, in that stillness, I began to grow. My patience deepened. My trust in His plan became more real. Looking back, I realize those hard seasons were growing seasons. They didn’t break me — they built me.”
“Yes, there were definitely moments when I almost gave up. Life has a way of testing your limits just when you think you’ve found your footing. But those were also the times that pushed me to pray a little harder and lean more deeply into my faith. Each challenge became an opportunity to grow — not just in strength, but in patience and trust in God’s timing. Looking back, those low points were really turning points, shaping me into someone stronger, wiser, and more grounded in my faith.”
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
One belief I’m deeply committed to — no matter how long it takes — is becoming a better version of myself each day. Not just for my own growth, but for the way I show up for others too. It’s easy to focus on self-improvement in isolation, but true growth, to me, means being more kind, more patient, more understanding — in my relationships, in my community, and even with strangers. It’s a lifelong journey, not a quick fix. And I’m okay with that. As long as I’m moving forward with intention and heart, I know I’m on the right path.”
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
“Definitely. I believe in giving my best, even if no one ever praises me for it. There’s a verse that keeps me grounded in that mindset — Colossians 3:23–24, which says: ‘Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.’ That scripture reminds me that my effort and excellence aren’t about being seen by people — they’re about honoring God. So with everything I commit to, I do it wholeheartedly, knowing that my purpose isn’t tied to recognition, but to faithfulness.”
